April 13, 200323 yr I have a older yoke that uses the gameport, and I've recently gotten a new PC that does not have this. I've tried a Adapter, but it totally screwed up the buttons(ex:actually pressing one button would cause the PC to show that several other buttons were being pressed). Is there some way I can add a a gameport port onto my new computer because I really don't want to buy another yoke.
April 13, 200323 yr Which "adapter" did you use? After going out to the local Radio Shack and getting a gameport to USB adapter, everything was screwed up. Not all of the generic adapters "read" the yoke signal/controls correctly. I found the RockFire adapter and haven't looked back since. A search on any engine will give you the closet retailer, and I think I spent $25 USD. Well worth it.Rick Rick
April 13, 200323 yr Another way is to buy the cheapest audio card you can find that has a gameport on it. Install the card but don't use the audio part of it if you have better audio elsewhere. Bill Sieffert
April 16, 200323 yr My Motherboard game with a gameport that goes into one of the slots for cards and has a connector which hooks onto the motherboard, But I have not tried it, and I never will!
April 18, 200323 yr Guess what... it works just fine!Asus P4PE motherboard with on-board gameport, CH "classic" flightstick. Bert
April 18, 200323 yr >I found the RockFire adapter>and haven't looked back since.>Rick Rick,Does the RockFire cooperate well with other USB devices? I've been interested in "converting" my old joystick/throttle combo to a homemade rudder/mixture/pitch device, but have always been reluctant to make the effort if I couldn't use it with my USB throttle and stick.Any input?sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
