October 28, 200322 yr Hey guys, its my OWN fault for not doing a better job of research. Something I try to do often. However the impulse of excitement takes you over sometimes and you just want to BUY NOW. I had been thinking of getting AS for a few weeks but did not get around to it until I was happy with my config of FS9.I just picked it up this weekend. I knew this forum existed but I did not go through it deep enough, nor the AS website, to realize there was an update coming and not an upgrade. Now I find myself having issues I did not have before with weather. I do not know what this OVERSPEED issue is but I am experiencing it and its a bit of a drag to say the least. The weather flickering and changing from cloudy to blue sky and back and what not is a drag too. I clicked the button that said NO REFUNDS so I am going to stick to what I agreed with when I purchased.I want to say I am 100% in support of the people that make add-ons for FS. It makes the hobby and in some cases the education that much more interesting. I believe they should be paid for quality products. So to the folks who work on AS, keep at it and hope you make it better and get the $$ you deserve. However as a consumer I am not happy. I purchased a product that was not 100% compatible with FS9, AND find out sometime between now and the end of this year there will be a new release of the software.I would not have purchased if I had better informed myself. Just like I would not have purchased FS2002 this month if in two months FS2004 was going to be released. I would have just waited. I also understand the business side of this. You do not want to make it PURELY, and BLATANTLY clear to everyone that there will be a new product coming out that will be better then what you are currently selling at the time. It may slow down sales you can get now. That's just business. Wrong, right, whatever its business. I'm not saying the AS side did that or didn't. I am saying if someone chooses they can argue that point.I think it might be a good gesture on the side of the AS side if there was at least a % off for existing AS users. REGARDLESS, if the reviews and the users say good things about 2.0 I'm sure I will be there to make the purchase as well. Thanks - Back to FS9 built in weather - I'd rather be flying then tweaking.
October 29, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi,Thanks for your honesty..OVERSPEED issue? Probably due to icing.. try turning DE-ICING on your aircraft (normally pitot heat works, but FS9 has a bug and reverses these systems..)..Cloud flickering? Have you tried "disable cloud transitions" as suggested in the fs2004info.txt? Let me know any other problems you are having..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
November 3, 200322 yr Hi Damien,I guess each day we wait for AS2 is a bonus for those who have recently purchased 1.9 (just so they can have a warm fuzzy feeling) - but dare I ask when can we expect the release date for AS2 or is that zipper tightly closed on this one? :)Dave
