October 21, 200619 yr HiI have downloaded and installed the new version of ASV. How do I get it to detect and load the weather into FSX.Regards
October 21, 200619 yr Hi,Thanks for the question. Have you installed FSUIPC4 into FSX? Then you should be all set. Run ASv6.5 and weather should be marked as User Defined in FSX. Then ASv6.5 should do its thing and weather should show up. If not please let us know and we will go from there.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Author I run fsx make sure weather is user defined start asv6.5 but asv is not setting the weather. Not sure if this is a problem like what I'm having with FDC where Simconnect is not talking with FSX therefore not allowing FDC to connect with FSX.Any ideas?
October 21, 200619 yr Jim,I am sorry but this is not clear to me! I installed the latest update of ASV. I have both Fs9 and FSX. With Fs9, no problem because I am using ASV since it came out. But for FSX, what should I do? Just start ASV and FSX (with user defined weather)? How ASV can detect FSX? Do I have to insert a new (or replace the current for FS9?) line in the ASV.ini file with the FSX path? And what about the GEPro integration? Can I load a flight plan and let ASV to process it with (or without?) GEPro? Please clarify! Many thanks!!RegardsEdmundo Edmundo Azevedo
October 21, 200619 yr Hi Jason,Have you installed FSUIPC4 for FSX? So, do you have an Add Ons pull down on the FSX Menu bar and is FSUIPC a choice? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Hi Edmundo,OK let's work on clearing this up!1. Make sure you have installed FSUIPC4 from the FSUIPC site.2. For FSX the start up steps are the same. We detect FSUIPC from FS. No line changes need to be made.3. GE Pro will not work with FSX yet, so there is nothing to do with that.I hope this clears things up. If not, then ask more questions! I will be gone for a few hours, but I'll be back later on today.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Author Hi JimYes FSUIPC 4.01 is installed and the addons menu appears in FSX along with FSUIPC.Regards
October 21, 200619 yr Hi,OK next. When you run ASv6.5 and FSX, what shows up on the ASv6.5 screen? Does it show FS disconnected or your current airport?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Author Hi JimOkay this is when I just tested.Loaded FSX sat on rwy 27L EGLL in 737-800. Loaded up ASv6.5 and shows FS Active. Downloads the default airport weather in this instance KSEA as set in asv options. Never refreshes and loads EGLL weather and no weather changes appear in FSX.Regards
October 21, 200619 yr Hi Jim,Works very nicely! Thanks! You have done a wonderful job!Actually my problem was "how could ASV detect FSX if I am not indicating the FSX path?". Don Edmundo Azevedo
October 21, 200619 yr Hi,Do you have ASv6.5 set to Start Paused? How about after a click on the Refresh button?I'll be back in a few hours! Got to spend some time with my sweetie!!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Thanks Much!!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Author Nope not set to start paused. Makes no difference if I click the refresh button. ASv6.5 does not even recognise If I change location to another airpot. The update works fine for FS9.Regards
October 21, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Obviously ASv6.5 isn't seeing FSUIPC or being allowed access it properly. I would suggest reinstalling FSUIPC 4 (4.02 just released btw) into FSX and see if that clears it up. If not, please post your FSUIPC.log file (after starting FSX and then attempting to load ASv6.5) which should let us know what the problem is...Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 21, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Just a note to avoid confusion, ASV is an old obsolete product (V indicating version 5).You are referring to ASv6.5 (as in ActiveSky Version 6.5). Just an FYI!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
