July 29, 200520 yr <<<<>>>>>>>> :D :D :D :D :D But how will you afford to eat?Anyway, it'll all be out of date in a year and you'll have to start all over again. What's BIG WATER, by the way? I get that after drinking a lot of beer, but I don't think I want it in my computer, do I?Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 29, 200520 yr Big Water is Thermaltakes affordable water cooling kit. My idle temps are at 31C and fully loaded temps are 37C!!!
July 29, 200520 yr I'd be very interested to know what fps you get with KDFW from Simflyers and full Ultimate Traffic and real weather at night (if you have those add-ons). With my AMD 3800+, 1 GB RAM and ATI X850XT I sometimes got about 150 fps with all sliders to the right, AA 6x and AF 16x and just a few clouds (flying the F1 172). When I tried the KDFW scenery it dipped to 10-12 fps! :) I suppose KDFW is the mother of all fps tests! Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
July 29, 200520 yr Jumping in before the move over to the Hardware forum. }( You didn't mention how much it all cost? Also a copy of your message will be archived for the day you say "I can't believe the prices of addons these days!" So we can tease you! :(
July 29, 200520 yr Talking about temps,I'm running a P4 3.4 OC'd to 3.8, ASUS P4C800-E Delux, 1 gig Kingston Hypertech pc3200 ram with cooling bars, ATI9800 pro OC'c to 401/399, and I am getting consistent 25-3- fps in the heaviest of traffic and scenery. This one is aircooled, Alien aluminum case, 6 case fans in and out, 2 on power supply, one one each HD, one over ATI, one over ram and an additional one flowing over the P4 fan. All additional fans are 80mm -- idle temps and full load are exactly like yours. No CTD's, no overheats and no problems.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. July 29, 200520 yr Congratulations for your new super computer. Can you do a simple test please ? choose a default airport and set a cumulus 7/8 cloud (approx. 4000 feet thick) at 2000-2500 feet above your aircraft at day. You can set this weather configuration in weather->user defined weather->customize weather->advanced weather. Now, point your view to the clouds, try flying inside, etc. how are your FPS now ? do you experiment a severe slowdown ?Thanks.
July 29, 200520 yr I will do the tests this weekend and post it. But I can tell you when flying online with VATSIM, real weather, and flying into LAX I am averaging 33fps.
July 29, 200520 yr I have an Asus p4c800-e deluxe with a p4 3.2 ,1gig ddr400 and an ati x850 xt, I get a smooth 60fps with fs9 out of the box , But when I got all the goodies loaded (38m mesh , ASV , lvl D 767 , UT etc.) I get a nice smooth 25-30fps. I love the vid card seems to handle things no problem , My fps is the same if I turn off AA of if I max it. Any slow down in fps seems to be from the cpu ram etc. Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
July 29, 200520 yr Talk-Talk-Talk... talk it cheap ;-) If your gonna boast let's see some screenies with full load, major addon airport, realtime weather (5 layers), 100% AI, running something like the PMDG or Level-D, with numbers in those 50-60 fps.
