I have an old P4 1.8ghz, 512 ram, 40 gig HD setup. It presently has no video card in it (I sold the card, a GeForce 3, some time ago). It was my FS rig from about 2002-2005.Anyway, I hear about people using a 2nd PC as a WideFS client, and running programs like moving maps or ActiveSky on the 2nd PC. Is this comp up to that task?But then again, the system is not worth much, is it? --it would need an AGP card in it for me to get it going again. I can either 1) buy some cheap (<$100) AGP card for it, and bring it back into operation as a WideFS computer, or2) junk it,3) buy a cheap AGP card and set it up as a web-surfing station, etc. in another part of the house.If you all can think of anything else, or see something I'm overlooking, let me know.Rhett

4) Buy a really cheap second hand PCI video card (less than $10) and use it as a WideFS computer. Remote desktop to it for even greater flexibility, then you can get rid of the monitor, keyboard and mouse as I have done with an old Celery 400, 384M RAM, 12G HDD.Gary

Thanks for all of the suggestions and the cheap vid card find. I think I will make a WideFS machine out of it. I don't know how that will work with FSX, though.It has a darn loud power supply on it though. ugh. An old PC Power Turbo Cool 300. My noisy Celery sits in a cupboard another room away and I link up to it via Remote Desktop across a wirless network card. No noise problem for me!Gary

Regarding wireless networking...if I were to go that route, what wireless networking "hub" or whatever it's called would you recommend?Does each PC on the network need some sort of wireless net card installed? Rhett,You can mix and match wired with wireless and use what ever router will suit your configuration. In my case, I use the dsl modem / wireless / four port wired network router that came with my Verizon DSL subscription. I have two computers connected on the wired connections (located in the same room as the router and much faster and reliable), two notebook computer that connect from anywhere in the house, then my Celery in the cupboard that is one room away from the router for max connection speed. The wireless side of things is secured using WPA-PSK. Only the wireless computers needed add-on cards - most new motherboards have integrated 10/100 network cards nowadays.The hardest bit was getting the Celery to autostart without a keyboard or display and automatically log into windows and fire up the wireless link. I have it all working nicely now, so it is high time I upgraded something to make it all not work :-lol Gary
