Just what is Matrox doing?

Featured Replies

First they close their excellent online support forum a few days ago (you've probably seen my rant below), then they announce a new product - a digital DH2GO, that is, 2 DVI outputs but still a VGA input. Weird. What a lot of us would like to see is a TH2GO with digital inputs and digital outputs. I wonder if that is in the pipeline. Wrong time to buy an analogue TH2GO?Read about the new box here:http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/news...2go_digital.php--Bryn

Analog signal processing has improved to the point where major differences in image quality can be difficult to detect. Unless you're a pro photographer, a prepress professional, or someone else who needs superprecise, top-notch image quality, you should be fine using an LCD on an analog signal. And thats the reason you will wait along time for TH2Go to be available in DVI

Great news! Now its possible to link up 2-24" monitors instead of 3-19'sAll I need is a bag of 50'sBestAndrewDamascus Pa

Maybe it's just because my LCD monitor is 3-4 years old now, but I can notice a BIG difference when switching from VGA to DVI.See specs below...........Edit - Why is this new Matrox product any different from attaching two monitors to my X1900GT...it has two DVI outputs already. Am I missing something?

Thanks for that Bryn.Since I bought the Dell 24" LCD and the monitor enlarger, I have been postponing the Triple20Go Matrox. Been waiting for something like this. The issue is still..the bezel in the middle. When viewing from spot view..the aircraft would be split in two screens. Ugly.Manny

Manny, maybe the bezel would be less of a problem if you combined a widescreen monitor with a 4:3 monitor, keeping the same number of vertical pixels on both. Then you could offset the central bezel, and same some cash at the same time :)--Bryn

Interesting response, thanks Keith.--Bryn

I have such a set up and it does not actually reduce the central bezel issue. It's always there and it still requires a hat switch offset that shifts your view off-center by about 3 degrees Because of this, after a lot of consideration, I've just ordered a third LCD panel along with Triplehead To Go !JSP.S. Matrox removed their forums in order to serve you better (hah) !

I had been in contact with a matrox employee for a few months re: some flickering i get with my th2g and i asked him about why they shut down the forums and his response was that they were restructuring their support mechanisms. This roughly translates to they are trimming the fat to save money at the expense of the customer. Too bad really as those forums were awesome. It seems these days that corporations find out exactly what things are MOST important to a customer and then they do the complete opposite. Very frustrating.________________________________________________________________________________________________Intel D975XBX2 'Bad Axe 2' | Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.20Ghz | 2 GB Super Talent DDR2 800 @ 893Mhz | Big Typhoon VX | eVGA 8800GTS @ 575/900 | Seagate 2x 320GB SATA RAID-0 | OCZ GameXStream 700W | Creative X-Fi | Silverstone TJ-09BW | Matrox Triplehead Setup

Exactly right! And then they change things "in order to serve you better"!"Thank you for a lovely product and great service!" JS

The height is going to remain the same.Would that matrox be able to send out that shorter width and the same height?Manny

>>Would that matrox be able to send out that shorter width and>the same height?>Needs somebody to try it for us. I was optimistically assuming the box could send say 1650 horizontal pixels to the first monitor and only 1400 to the second (4:3) monitor but maybe it just sends half to each.Anyone tried the TH2GO with 3 dissimilar monitors?--Bryn
