January 13, 200719 yr Despite the 11_02_06setup update, I cannot get my Goflight modules to work in FSX. I see the FSX tab in the config utility, and get the hardware / trusted sites, etc prompts when I start FSX, but they do not come on. Any ideas? I have a freeware (for the moment) version of the FSX-compatible FSUIPC, and the appropriate modules in the FSX MODULES folder. Any help is appreciated.Regards,http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
January 14, 200719 yr What does goflight say? I am curious about this thread as i want to buy some modules myself (if i could ever get anyone from the avsim store or goflight to actually return my emails).
January 14, 200719 yr Author Dave:I love what GoFlight makes, but the're not known for their support, at least in terms of returning emails. I absolutely love my modules, using 11 now in FS9 without a glitch. I just can't get them to work in FSX. I'm sure it's something simple I overlooked. I'm going to visit their support forums next.http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
January 14, 200719 yr I'd read into wether you need the rgistered version of FSUIPC 1st i reckon that holds the key for you mateCheerzJoshp.s and please do let us know the out come Cheers Josh Cliff
January 14, 200719 yr Author Josh:So you're saying I need the registered version for FSX to get the modules to work?http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
January 14, 200719 yr Suggest you try the forums at GoFlight. GoFlight themselves do not monitor the forums, but there are lots of helpful users there.--Bryn
January 19, 200719 yr Moderator Alex,You don't need FSUIPC for GoFlight modules to work with FSX. Certainly not the T6, P6, GF166 and LGT modules. Maybe you do for the MCP but I don't have that so couldn't comment. All the ones I've listed work fine. The only problem is that they don't switch off the display when exiting FSX but this is a known problem and although GoFlight are aware of it they don't appear to be busting a gut to fix it.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). January 19, 200719 yr Author I find the GoFlight forums unhelpful, really. I know the modules in FSX work for some users, but how? Tell me EXACTLY what I have to do. I've got the latest FSX_version of the software, and all of the module DLLs appear to be in the right places......can someone give me a short list of what goes where in FSX? I've been using and updating GoFlight for YEARS in FS9 without half the trouble this has been to get to work in FSX. Though why am I surprised? FSX in general has been nothing but a hassle. Tweak after tweak for 6-8 FPS at a big airport. Who cares if you get 20FPS over the Sahara? Goodness, what a mess......http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifVery Frustrated,Alex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
January 19, 200719 yr Moderator <>What can I say? I just followed the prompts responding Yes when asked any questions that requested permission to do something. I can't remember exactly what the install routine involved. Are you getting a prompt to allow a program to run each time you start FSX? If so are you responding Yes? I guess you are. If things aren't working then just deinstall and reinstall and read the readme on the GoFlight site first so you know what is going on.I'm sorry I can't be more helpful but I just followed the prompts and it worked first time. You say that all the DLLs appear to be in the right places but where are you looking to see that? In the GoFlight folder? As far as I can see there are no DLLs in the FSX setup. As far as GoFlight support is concerned it's probably best to write to their support address as they state on their forum they rarely visit it.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). January 19, 200719 yr Author Ray:I read the readme the first time and followed the instructions to the letter, so I knew about the prompts, and from another forum, learned that they are asked each time. So yes, that's a good sign. Just that afterwards, once FSX loads, all I get is horizontal slashes across the MCP - everything else, the other 10 modules, are all dark.I'll try it again.Thanks,http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
January 19, 200719 yr Moderator Alex,It could be to so with the MCP. I don't have that. Can you temporarily disconnect it and see if the other modules come alive after the reinstall?Once you get it sorted there's a way to prevent that message appearing each time. First things first though :-) Ray (Cheshire, England). January 19, 200719 yr Hi Alex, have you checked also the the goflight bridge is running (program GFDevFSX.exe)? It get minimised in the task bar. In my case, I've to start it manually before launching FSX.Patrick
January 20, 200719 yr Moderator Patrick,That doesn't sound right. That program is started automatically on my system and no icon appears in the System Tray. Then again, I have configured FSX to automatically allow the GoFlight program to run without needing to confirm it each time FSX starts. How annoying is that and why didn't Microsoft program things to allow these type of programs to start automatically?Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
