problem with pedal sensitivity setting

Featured Replies

I've developed a strange problem with my CH Pedals sensitivity. Started with trouble with oversteering on the ground. I traced the issue to the sensitivity settings within FS. For some reason for the pedals FS seems locked in the "simple" mode. I hit the "advanced" button, adjust the sliders to where they need to be, save, and then when I go back it's reverted to the simple setting again. I've deleted the FS.cfg file, rebuilt a new one, resaved default flights, etc.... Arrghh! FS seems to refuse to accept my desired setting for the pedals. Any ideas anyone? Mike

calibrate the pedals using the CH calibrator. Set your dead zones with that software.

First thing I did was do a recalibration using the CH calibrator. I think the problem is somewhere in FS tha it won't hold the settings for sensitivity that I set. Mike

Your topic did not indicate that information else I wouldn't have wasted my time suggesting it. My CH pedals are and always have been buggy to say the least when it comes to FS. Unplug them. restart the computer. plug them back in. check FS then.Is there another joystick that has the rudder assigned? Go through your assignments and remove any other inferences of rudder assignments.Of course if you've already done that, I'm wasting my time again.Juanita

That's in line with my next idea which is to re-install the pedals/yoke. This is the first problem I've really had with these, though I'm still not convinced the problem is with the pedals as the only change I make is within FS. Mike

>My CH pedals are and always have been buggy to say the least>when it comes to FS. Unplug them. restart the computer. plug>them back in. check FS then.>that's some good idea to try. My pedals give me problem too. They often go out of center. But what's most annoying is one side always takes very long to go back to center in FS when the pedals are back in center already. For example. I step on right pedal to get a 50% right indication. Then I physically center the pedals but the pedals in FS SLOWLY go back. 40%right ... 25%right... 12%right...0%right... It takes for ever. When it finally centers I could have made a couple 360s on the ground already. Jason

Are you using FSUIPC to calibrate the pedals & yoke? Ver 3.73 is the latest for FS9. If so, try deleting FSUIPC.INI which you will find in the Modules sub-directory. FSUIPC will regenerate the file.Claude

I just had a similar problem with my CH pedals in that the brakes were sticking on. Now that I read your post I realize that the settings too were on "Simple" when I'm sure I had previously set them up in "Advanced" mode. I'm not sure if it's fixed yet but I suspect the problem started when I unplugged them from the computer to use the usb port for something else. Forgot to plug them back in and probably went back into FS9 without them connected. So now I bought an adapter with additional usb ports so I don't have to unplug them any more than is necessary.

I don't have the registered FSUIPC; maybe it's time :-) I'll try the unplug tip when I get done with all these soccer games (2 daughters; 4 teams) I still don't see how that would change why FS refuses to accept my advanced settings and continues to revert to the simple mode for the pedals. The yoke settings are fine and don't change. Mike
