October 12, 200718 yr I can't believe I just tried this for the first time since getting TH2G some months ago: sitting in the PMDG 747-400 at KIAD at night-time, I hit ALT+ENTER and got a flawless full screen mode, thereby cutting out the bright blue top bar of FS2004 in windowed mode. But, in addition, I was able to bring up the FSNavigator map, resize it and keep it apparently undocked on the right monitor screen. I was then able to bring up the FMC and resize it on the left screen.I wondered how this is possible and suddenly it dawned on me that all 2D panels are "un-dockable" in full screen mode because TH2G treats all three LCDs as a single screen of 3084x1024! So now I have been able to reclaim even more screen real estate and have "undocked" panels as well in FS2004.My only observation is that when I click the F9 key to bring up FSNavigator, the whole screen set-up flickers for an millisecond, but I assume this is not doing any harm (I hope!).Even with a 53" diagonal view, getting rid of the bright blue FS2004 bar at the top of the screen is a welcome deletion and means that for night flying the sim is even more immersive. It's small discoveries like this that make the sim an object of endless discovery--and delight, when things go right.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
October 12, 200718 yr JS- Yes, the blue Windows title bars are ghastly! Another approach is to change their colours in Display/Appearance. Mine are now dark gray with green lettering- a la Boeing 747 CDUs. Either way makes a big improvement- espec. with popups spread over multi monitors. October 12, 200718 yr I have a rather naive question as I have been eyeing this for a while. It says it supports 3 monitors at 1280x1024. My present monitor is 1440x900. Does this mean I need to buy 3 1280x1024 monitors to be compatable-or could I get 2 more 1440x900 and run in 1280x1024 res albiet distorted. Is 1280x1024the maximum res supported? Will the image appear "grainy" on say 3- 24" monitors that support 1920x1200 monitors? If I am gonna do it I'd like to get as big as possible. Thanks for any answers.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 12, 200718 yr It will be distorted and stretched, as 1280x1024 4:3 aspect ratio pixels will be interpolated onto 1440x900 16:10 aspect ratio pixels. Some say they find interpolated pixels on LCDs acceptable, but to me anything other than native resolution on an LCD looks blurry. I am waiting for a TH2G that supports a much wider range of resolutions, including 3 x widescreen displays.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 12, 200718 yr Thanks-that was what I was worried about. With prices on monitors coming down I might be better off getting a 24" single monitor. My son wants my present one for a birthday gift so I am under a little pressure to make a decision!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 12, 200718 yr Geofa,A very quick way to check out whether 1280x1024 will bother you on your current montior is to set your FS resolution to this value and see what you think. Make sure your display adaptor is set to stretch the display to whatever is set, otherwise the screen may just shrink to the new setting. If it displays corner to corner, then you can see what may or may not annoy you!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

October 12, 200718 yr Instead of 3 X widescreen 24", I am hoping for a single 24" in the middle and two 3:4 monitors to the sides.I am waiting for such a thing. IF its 3 X 24 widescreen. I'll take it.:)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 12, 200718 yr I see Office Max has a 24" on sale for $299-the reviews look pretty good.I'll probably go for that-for now... :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 12, 200718 yr Manny- somewhere I think I read that Matrox advises 3 identical monitors for TH2GO. Can anyone confirm?Alex Reid
October 12, 200718 yr Hi all,I've been perusing AVSIM forums for a couple of years, and thought it was time I dived in!I had the same questions on the Matrox resolution - please find below an email and reply from Matrox this week on the topic (I presume Matrox won't mind me copying the email here).Hope this helps,Paul From: Paul Egan Sent: 09 October 2007 13:59To: Andrea JacksonCc: Cecilia WillsSubject: TripleHead2Go-digital enquiryDear Matrox,I am very interested in purchasing your TripleHead2Go digital. However I want to use 3 24" monitors in their native resolution only (1920x1200 x3 = 5760x1200). Could you tell me if you are planning to increase your maximum resolution from 3840 x 1024?I understand DirectX9 has a maximum resolution of 4096x4096 and DirectX10 in Vista 8192x8192.Any info much appreciated.Kind regards,Paul----- Original Message ----From: Andrea JacksonTo: Paul EganSent: Tuesday, 9 October, 2007 4:30:47 PMSubject: RE: TripleHead2Go-digital enquiryHi Paul Thank you for your email and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The resolution limitation is not actually one that we can change at this time. It is dependent on quite a few other things. The first in DX9. It has a horizontal pixel limitation of 4096. EDID (the communications protocol used between monitors and graphics cards) also has the same resolution limitation. This means that the maximum horizontal resolution that we can do is 1360 per display or 4080, as 4096 divided by three is 1365.333 and there aren't any monitors on the market that can do this resolution. This has changed in DX10 but the GXMs are DX9 parts at the moment. There is still going to be the EDID issue to overcome, even if we did change the GXMs to DX10. I hope that I've answered your questions but please don't hesitate to come back to me if you need anything elseRegardsAndrea Jackson Matrox Graphics UKAny views expressed in this message are those of the individual sender, except where the sender specifically states them to be the views of Matrox Graphics Inc. October 12, 200718 yr JS- After posting my request to you for a TH2GO screenshot it dawned on me that the result would be only a single monitor image- 45
October 12, 200718 yr Triple head to Go digital supports 2 X 24" LCDs at its native resolution to get the maximum 3840 X 1200 across two widescreen.Anyone has this kind of setup? My only hesitation with this is the bezel in the center. In Spot view, the aircraft would be split.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 12, 200718 yr If you have an nVidia card and are running Windows XP, you can use spanned mode as a "free" version of TH2G's dual monitor support. Unfortuantely, if you want that one extra display, or even just want spanned dual monitor in Vista, TH2G or DH2G are the only respective options.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
