December 5, 200718 yr What are some of your experiences with the Go Flight modules? Are they reliable? Is there a FPS hit when using these? AMD 3800X, Gigabyte Radeon 5700XT, AS Rock X570 Phantom Gaming 4, 32mb 3600 ram
December 5, 200718 yr hellovery reliable, no framerate hit.I have the GF-166 GF-46 GF-48 and The MCP Advanced Autopilot module all fitted in the tall Goflight rack, never had any problems with any of them.
December 5, 200718 yr I am currently only using the RP-48 and GF-46 to keep the space and cost down. Cost is about $350 and I get Com1, Com2, Nav 1, Nav 2, ADF, DME, Transponder, Autopilot, all the buttons for autopilot, and rotary knobs for heading, and OBS settings. They work perfectly and use very little resouces. It really helps. In the past I have been forced to puse the simulator to change settings, now its just a matter of turning a few knobs and pushing a few buttons. Much more realistic especially if you fly instruments. I am considering adding a GF-166 or two for Com and nav frequency swapping and other ease of use issues. You will not regret your purchase.
December 5, 200718 yr HelloThat combo is how i started with Goflight, It is probably the best two modules to get, covers everything you need.http://www.freewebs.com/reading1871/30.jpg
December 6, 200718 yr GF-166 is pretty good too.I love Go Flight... They are one of the best hardware vendors out there for us. They are well made products and highly versatile in how we can set it up. I can't recommend Go Flight enough. In FSX. I have a small issue with the software. I cannot start FSX and go like I can do in FS9. I have to say to "No" when the prompt comes asking if I want to load Go flight software at FSX start up and then I load the Go flight software separately.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 7, 200718 yr I built a full size cockpit and used a whole go-flight console (I think it was the "Commercial captain", or similar). It is outstanding, on FSX and Vista. I also used the PF yoke, matrox triplehead2go and lots of other stuff, building the cockpit and seating by hand. The go-flight gear is fully programmable and makes operating all the systems in the cockpit just like a real aircraft (IMHO). The only thing I didn't like was the go-flight throttle console, which seems to have cheap potentiometers, these gave spikes and failed calibrations. I also used the Saitek rudder pedals, which was a big mistake - should have used the higher-quality PF gear - which had the same cheap and nasty feel. The Saitek pedals have already been replaced, having been broken by a heavy-footed learner. The best go-flight gear is the radios, autopilot, FMS and various switch panels, all high quality with the right look and feel.BTW, the software does run fine in FSX, you can autoload it if you use the new version.Have fun!Trev
December 7, 200718 yr Hi Manny-This is very easy to fix-take a look at this thread:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchI just got the gf-glt (trim wheel, gear, flaps) module and love it. The only thing I didn't like was the flimsy flap switch-however per the thread above I replaced it with a $4.00 part from radio shack and am now extremely happy!http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/ Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
December 7, 200718 yr Thanks Geofa. Let me see if that would solve my issue.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
