Well, here's one for y'all. These are the first drivers since 169.25 that I can use without flashes, artifacts, and poor performance. I have to lock frames below 30, but they work.Bob

i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

djt01,How is the GTX 280 performing for you in relation to the 8800? Do you notice any performance gain?--Bob

>djt01,>>How is the GTX 280 performing for you in relation to the 8800?> Do you notice any performance gain?>>--BobBob,Do mean with FSX or in general? With FSX it might be just a tad more stable with the frame rate in heavy weather compared to the 8800 Ultra. In every other game/sim I have it has shown a substantial performance increase compared to what I was getting with the 8800 Ultra. With the last few driver releases it

djt01,I was asking in regards to FSX thank you.I would also like to apologize to both you and tfm. Both your orginal thoughts on a bad driver install appear to have been on the money. I tried reinstalling the 178.24's once again today. After the final boot into Vista I open up the NVIDIA control panel to adjust the settings and noticed that the exact settings that were applied prior to removal of the exsisting drivers and installation of the new drivers were still applied. The translation being that all previous driver remnants had not been removed from the OS.This time around I did the following once again and note the change in bold:1) Remove exsisting drivers via the control panel2) Reboot the PC and enter Safe Mode3) Run Driver Cleaner with the disable UAC option enabled and remove all remaining remnants of the old driver.4) Reboot the PC5) Install the new driver6) Reboot the PC and configure driver settings. This time when entering the control panel global settings were at their default values.I've completed a two hour flight in the Level-D 767 and a one hour flight in the PMDG 747 without any issues since installing the 178.24's (prior to this I could not fly more the 15 minutes on the 178.24's without a video driver crash).
