Performance impact of TH2Go

Featured Replies

well Alan, i am up and running with the new computer and what a huge difference. i am flying with some sliders all the way to the right, some close to it, bloom is on, and i have tried in both DX9 & 10. i guess i can give 2 thumbs up to the new system.

That's great news - sounds like you're going to get a lot out of the system. For me it means that TH2Go is a practical option. All I have to do now is agonize over Nehalem vs. an overclocked Q9XX0. Which of course I'll do - without agonzing, it wouldn't be an FSX experience, now, would it.In the end the wallet will decide. I like the reality principle...Thanks again for reporting back - and enjoy it!Alan

thanks Alan, one last thing the consider. Nehalem may be 25% better then mine but at what $$ now, plus it will still be a while before you can get it. not trying to discourage you to act now but if you cant wait, i have been very happy with my system.

I'm giving that serious thought - I'd love to be at the absolute leading edge of performance but if the dollars aren't there... Though, on the other hand, there's interesting news this morning re: the possibility of overclocking the less-expensive Nehalems (see the other thread). That makes for a complicated cost-benefit picture. I'm probably going to hold off for a couple of weeks and see how the Nehalem reviews come out. But the prospect of a Q9XX0 machine is definitely on the table.Alan

I made the move recently to a triple head, pushing 3 17" Dell Flats. I saw NO impact at all on this setup.I am running FSX and all the specs below, but I'd say go for it.

Thanks, John - that's another strong vote in favor of the TH2Go. Looks like I'm going to make that move - as soon as I figure out the rest of the system. Working on that...Thanks again!Alan

I run FSX on an analog TH2Go and three Samsung 19" LCDs. running the slides mid way and 100% MyTrafficX AI. I normally get high teens to low 20s frame rates. This is fine for me. I can fly anything at those FPS.

Hi There,I am running TH2go with 3 screen 19" Viewsonic.I have FS9 and FSX. TH2go is great in 2D as you use the other screen for different items like GPS, FSNAV display, ect. or in 3D VCP, the view is amazing. Now with FS9 I am locked at 29FPS and I can get 29FPS 99% of the time using lots of add-ons scenery, and 100% AI traffic from all over the world. FSX is a bit tricky, some times I get >30FPS and some times it goes down to 11 or 12FPS depending where you are. All my slides are at about 75%.I have GEX,FEX, UT and others, with ASX however when you look at the lights at nights they are stretched, and that is the only thing I don't like. Stretch because I guess we are running 3080X1024.this is my system speck:Intel core 2 DUO E8400/1333/6M/S775Asus Mother board P5K-E4GB DDR2 800Mhz 2x2GBMemory cooling via heat sinkNvidia GE force 8800GTS OC 512MB PCI-Express.Hope this helpWalouigi
