Loadeditor and Fuelplanner

Michael,No, they are not punished. Inconvenienced yes and its something we are all very concious of and it is why I spent a whole lot more time on them than I should have done. For loading in the interim it has always been possible to use the in built FS loader. Centre of gravity for MAC purposes will never be far out at 22 - 24 as long as you evenly load things. If you go and place for example all of the cargo in the front and can't take off no amount of load editor would help.Fuel flow

Norman,Thanks for the fuel flow tables :). Which table is for what engine type? And please confirm the tables represent both engines operting?Jim Harnes

hi all if you need a load editor i don't know if i should be advertising other developers wares here but as its not in direct competition with pss i don't think it should be a problem but if i'm wrong could one of the moderators tell me but i use fs passengers, this seems to do the job and doesn't interfere with the original cfg steve :-cool

Was wondering how the load editor/fuel planner is coming along. Didn't think it was going to take this long.

HiI am normally really patient. But now i am gettinga little bit annoyed to this issue. No really good information is coming through about this tools or other issues in the 757.I personally don't care if pirated copies can use the tools or not.Anyway the cracker always find ways around security checks. We want the tools now, and not in 6 months!

Cheers

>We want the tools now, and not in 6 months!Did they ever say they would be released in 6 months?

Hi,The thing is. Im no software developer but I would have though that these issues would take days not weeks/months to sort out. As far as I was aware the load edit/fuel planner are already made they just have to make sure they wont work with pirated software. Fair enough, but as already said the wait is getting a bit too long.Andy S

hallo PSS Team, please notice my small note: in the real world we use kg for all kind of calculations (weight+balance, or fuelcalculations as reference / see allso FAA international standards). Other than metric systems are out -since years- for airlinepilots, after noted problems during bad airmenship or groundstaff faillures.I hope, that you can offer that system allso (as better choise) for the comming load/fuel editor as well.best regardsPeter

If you dont get the exact numbers then who cares. Play with it for a while and :-eek you might even discover something for yourself without having it shoved in front of you!Rob

Also as a real world dispatcher I can 100% confirm that some airlines still use pounds for weights. Whilst most are kilos, pounds are still very much used. Just because those tables show lbs mean nothing since in the utilities both pounds and kilos are available.

Norman is 100% ocrrect. I am pilot for a large US regional, and we use pounds for ALL weight calculations. In fact, I am almost positive that all US airlines use pounds, as it is the system that dominates over here (for better or worse, probably worse, but oh well).David

The headers seem rather confusing, though I assume that the numbers are the pounds per hour used at that airspeed (in correlation with appropriate engine settings) altitude and ZFW? I assume ZFW since the actual weight of the aircraft will change as fuel burns which would deem this a little unreliable. Am I reading this correct?Dan Mosesdeltamike172@hotmail.com

Not all US operators use pounds. Atlas Air use the metric system throughout.Norman,You say the PSS utilities use KG and LB. We would all love to be able to verify this by seeing them in operation too. :)First the servers were too busy, then it was no reliable internet in Malta, then it was to protect against piracy. What next? Not sure about the anti-piracy excuse. If someone has got hold of a free pirate copy, I don't think they'd be rushing to buy a legal copy just because the load editor didn't work. If it was made integral with the installation they would need to be a legal owner to get it anyway, surely?Kevin

Kevin,Perhaps if you read them again you would note the chronological order was and remains:1. Server load2. Piracy protection3. MaltaThe Malta side of things have not yet resumed. You may have also noted that I said the utils will be made available as a seperate download as well as combined. And no, Im not about to divulge what issues it will cause should a pirated version be detected. As far as KB/LBs - I too would love for you guys to be able to but I refer to point 3. Like I said elsewhere, Im just one tiny piece of PSS.

Dan,Drag, and therefore fuel flow, will be related to gross weight. If the chart showed ZFW instead of GRWT, the fuel flow would be the same for full and empty tanks. I assume the charts Norman has provided show fuel flow for the current gross weight, not take-off gross weight. For proper flight planning you would have tables which use take-off gross weight and account for fuel burn during the climb, and similar charts for cruise and descent (again with gross weight for the beginning of each phase). These allow a simple look up giving gross weight at the end of each phase.Using Norman's charts you can get a reasonable estimate by iteration.Kevin
