May 23, 200719 yr Beautiful shots. California seems to be well covered by Virtual Earth and I still haven't flown anywhere else yet. The quick flight from Monterey to San Jose looks very realistic if you haven't done it yet. I checked out the Pinnacles Natl monument tonight since I've been there before and I could see the hiking trails that I've walked! Colorization is a little off, but it does radiate reds and greens on most days. Tony
May 23, 200719 yr Could someone Please post some screenshots of South Africa using Tileproxy ? Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg..? Thanks!!
May 23, 200719 yr I've gone thru them 3 times in my cross country flights-that pass looks like the one over Ogden.I had a video of flying my Baron over the range into Ogden at this link-not sure if it still works but here is case-a great way to compare the incredible reality of Tileproxy:http://www.bolt.com/geofa/video/Ogden_Landing/233668http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

May 24, 200719 yr Tried the video site but couldn't get through. I'll try later.Geofa when flying the Baron over those mountains at what values do you set the manifold pressure and mixture on average and at what height? Re WOZ
May 24, 200719 yr Thottle is full in on just about any altitude over 5000'-the setting you are going to get depends on the altitude.I usually fly 24" and 2400 rpm but at 9000 ft. which is about what you cross this range on the airway (if I recall correctly) you will only get about 20-21 inches of manifold with full throttle. Mixture will at about 11-12 gallons per hour per engine. The coolest thing is you are up at 9000'-then when you cross the pass the elevation drops to about 4500-the bottom drops right out.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 24, 200719 yr Thanks Geofa,Yes I was struggling with the FSX Cessna in that area and the FSX Baron wasn't all that much better trying to get over the snow peaks further south.Virtual reality with FSX,TP and GE no question about it.Cheers WOZ
May 24, 200719 yr Not to Double post these pictures But I just posted this at Flightsim. Will just post the link here for those of you to see.http://forums.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard.php...id=472625&page=Now I can Fly the True Version of IFR.... I follow Roads.
May 24, 200719 yr Everytime you post your widescreen photos, my jaw drops ;) That sure is some excellent vista.
May 24, 200719 yr These are from an Evening flight I took from Groom Lake at Area 51(AR51) over to Tonopah Test Range(TNX). Theres a lot of really cool stuff to see around that area, check out the mountains just south east of Area51. Too much stuff to see and I don't want to spoil it by exposing it all. Jump in a microlite and spend an hour or 2 exploring the place, you won't regret it.
May 24, 200719 yr Wizard of Oz,Your wide screenshots are absolutely spectacular. I find myself looking forward to the next set. You must have a heck of a setup with your machine. Very well done and always a pleasure to view.
May 24, 200719 yr Thanks so much rbrown3rd and Wizard of Oz for the screenshots.Truly amazing and spectacular!!
