Reading these threads has caused me to run out and purchase the X-plane 9 DVD's. Hope I have time this weekend to install them. I am glad to see this type of involment between the creating of a sim model, and working with the full scale aircraft and pilot.Very good stuff indeed. Looking forward to trying it out later after the install. Thanks,John Laine

Thanks Larry...do you have a higher resolution image of you panel? If I can make out the instruments, I can do a quick general arrangement that matches yours for the most part.
We'll see if these are workable...

A great Rv for xplane and a great Baron for xplane? Things are looking way up! :(

Yes, and maybe the X-Plane version can have some painted wheel pants and all leg fairings installed... :( L.Adamson

Add a simulated Xm weather and it would be a first for any sim. I am flying a fairly big trip with a friend building ifr time in a 172 without xm weather tomorrow-feel like I am back to the stone ages. :(

Hi all,I spent some minutes to testfly the latest RV6 build (got a little confused installing it at first because of the "double" file-structure inside the zip) and noticed these things: 1.) One side of the elevators is invisible from the outside view when viewing it from above (or underneath? just try it).2.) Elevator authority seems to be fairly limited, I couldn

Hi Larry, this is interesting, indeed. I agree that no simulator will do very well in the deep-stall regime. I think a lot of aircraft are designed to give a fairly benign stall without wingdropping and such. I think it is a certification issue (at least in the transport category) that airplanes must stall with a nose-down tendency (thats why the 737 has autoslats). I have been told that it will stall kind of like this RV6 - just settling with a really high sinkrate with full aft elevator - haven

No new downloads yet...but a screenshot of what's going on. We're working on some important techniques that allow the relatively rapid assembly of 3D interactive VCs like the MU-2 has. The RV-6 here will be a beneficiary of the testing in 3D interaction though probably not quality of texture. In this screenshot, the RV engine gagues have been added in and some "test switches" which can be actuated there in 3D....also some new nicer vernier handles. A couple of tweaks to the flight model have been made also. When this technique is refined a bit over the next weeks, I suspect I'll be able to sweep through this cockpit and get most of the gauges / switches added in and make it a bit more "feedback" friendly and we can continue working the flight model. I'll be out of town on business next four days though.

I'll be looking forward to this. In the meantime, I was just showing my wife some of those impressive MU-2 videos............ L.Adamson

Looking real good! Hope you get those rapid techniques down so we can get some great aircraft including a Baron! :( Having some real good, real working aircraft will do a lot more to sell the sim.

Still no download...but not far off. Perhaps this evening. This screenshot represents more "workflow" testing. The breakers are movable in 3D but dont' do anything...well actually they do "benign" stuff like drop a tailhook or open some non-existant door....I just needed some variables to drive with the breakers in the absence of a true electrical system simulation. something like that would be plug-in driven anyhow. The Garmin 430 will work in 3D if you have reality-XP's GNS product...if not, it won't do anything. The toggle switches are all operable in 3D and perform as labled. The Garmin Audio panel is not functional...just fills the panel with a graphic. There's a 3D knob on NAV 1 that's an experiement in 3D "usability" for tiered knobs...I will probably remove it for the released version.Once this next version is released, I'll need to tweak the engine values. There's "approximately" calibrated but certainly not tuned. My goal here was two-fold...to try some 3D cockpit building experiements and to give enough control / feedback to resume tuning of the flight model.

New downloadhttp://www.x-scenery.com/xscontent/downloads/RV-6b1.zipNo changes to the flight model since last time that I can recall. I just tossed in some 3D stuff and some extra instruments to use as feedback for flight model testing. Some things to be aware of:If you have reality-xps GNS for x-plane, the unit will work in 3D AND you can click on the screen to bring up the 2D version. Click the screen again to hide the 2D popup GNS. If you do not have reality xps GNS, then you'll just see a static screen. The switches and some of the fuses work in 3D...grab and pull / flip them. The vernier handles (throttle, prop, mixture) also work in 3D...just pull/push em with the mouse as needed. The audio panel is "somewhat for show". I was playing around with the nav1 and nav2 audio settings but didn't get them to work and did not feel like pursuing it. So you'll see the mouse cursor change when you place it over the audio panel nav1 and nav2 buttons...other than those buttons, the rest of the audio panel is just a flat graphic. There's a flap indicator just to the right of the light switches so you can reference your flap settings on approach. There's also a full compliment of engine gauges loosely calibrated. This is one area I could use some feedback on. I don't plan on doing much more 3D for this plane but will continue to tweak the flight model.
