Looking for native FSX amphib

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a good native sp2 amphibian for FSX? Something that's fairly fast too? I have the RA Scout and it's great. But it's slow hehe. I'm thinking something like a Turbo Beaver etc

What about the Aerosoft Twotter Float? Or the Premier Aircraft Design Twotter?

You'll have to install your own turbo, but Aerosoft has a very nice Beaver package that includes an amphibious version (They'll also be coming out with a Catalina package in the next few weeks) and Carenado has a lovely Cessna Stationair amphibian. On the freeware side, Ian Thatcher has adapted FS2004's Grand Caravan Amphibian for use in FSX (Library Link), Mario Noriega made a Nadri Riviera (click me!), and Premier Aircraft Design made a Turbo Beaver (here it is). This is the result of just a very quick search; I'm sure if you commit yourself to maybe less than a half hour's search, you'll turn up more amphibians as well.

I get > 20 FPS @ Ultra High or better everything until I come across addon scenery.

It doesnt get any more 'native' than the default Goose, and its a beautifull plane, have you tried that?

I second that, the Goose is beautiful and flies wonderfully

Yup, I agree with that too, it's probably the nicest aircraft you get in FS and is a lot better than all the other default models, more like a payware add-on to be honest. And if you like that, take a trip here and see what Alphasim have got coming: http://www.alphasim.co.uk/Al
