May 4, 200917 yr When I come to start the engines of the FS9 MD11, the orange engine start switches don't glow orange, and don't pull themselves back in once the engine has started. When you pull them, you can see them flash orange for a second, but then they go out, and you have to manually push them back in once the engine is running. If I pull the engine start selector, then push it back in, then pull it out again, it will stay lit orange and will pull back in once the engine has started.Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? May 4, 200917 yr Author Do you mean the Engine Ignition system? System A (or :( is switched on. I don't think it's even possible to start the engines without either of the ignition systems switched on.I can actually start the engines, but the three orange switches just above the fuel control switches are the ones that don't go orange, and don't turn off automatically when the engines have started. May 5, 200917 yr Correct, the engine ignition system needs to be switched on (System A or :(, as without it, the engines do not start...Confirm you have the default Cessna/KSEA flight as start up... You can choose your initial airport, but I don't change aircraft to the MD until aftere the airport and so on have loaded...It could be that some parameter has not initialized correctly...Andrew Andrew Entwistle

May 5, 200917 yr Author My FS starts to the select flight screen, although the default cessna 172 at KSEA is selected in the FS9.cfg file as the default flight. But I've also tested it with actually loading the default flight and then selecting the MD11, and still the same result. If I pull the orange engine start knob, then push it off as soon as N2 starts increasing, then immediately pull it on, it works normally, i.e. the ornage light comes on, and it pulls itself back in at about 18% N1. Otherwise, it doesn't light orange, and stays pulled out. Phil Brown
