May 6, 200917 yr Experts, My new Vista H.P.64bit install had excellent results until I installed SP1 and SP2. These are the results using the 5 minute test flight with fsMark7 and Fraps. LOW HIGH AVG Std 18 38 30.263 SP1 7 15 12.373 Sp2 6 15 12.347I went through the horrors of reactivation and would prefer not to do that again. May 6, 200917 yr Moderator Rather than remove SP2, why not find out why it's performing poorly now? There must be a proximate cause that could be resolved with a bit more effort... :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

It should return FSX back to the original.Jim
May 6, 200917 yr I am not really sure, but as far as I remember, you shouldn't install 1+2, just 2. But I might be wrong...
May 6, 200917 yr I am not really sure, but as far as I remember, you shouldn't install 1+2, just 2. But I might be wrong...In order to install SP2 you must have SP1 installed. Acceleration can be installed into a clean FSX install or an FSX SP1 install.
May 6, 200917 yr Something is really wrong here, because performance should improve with SP1 and SP2... Did you try deleting the FSX.CFG? When you do that a new cfg will be created when you start FSX. Let's see what that does. My system is a bit slower than yours, but I wouldn't have the performance I am having now without SP1 and SP2...! Besides that, lots of addons require SP2...
May 6, 200917 yr Did you defrag after your installs? I've found performance really suffers if you don't do this after the initial installation(s). Regards, Kendall 7800X3D/G.B. Aorus 650 Elite V2.0/32GB GSkill Trident 6000-CL30/Nvidia 1080 Ti./Seasonic Focus 1200W PSU.
