The temp Hifi one is ugly, lacks features, only has a handful of posts, requires re-registration and has none of the wealth of info that this forum has. With their new gear, Avsim should be able to run this forum like never before. And since it's not a good idea to have two support forums, the most logical move would be to remove the temp Hifi forum and continue using this one.:(

Ahhhh, It's good to be home... :( I agree, this is where HiFiSim started and where I think HifiSim should remain. And, to be honest, I don't much care for the e-mailing of trouble reports either because you can't tell if an issue has already been reported and/or fixed. It is detrimental to the wealth of information the forum system provides. Lets get back to basics and the KISS method. :(

You are still supposed to email them your problems regardless of whether this forum or any other is working or not.

Cheers, Andy.

Understand that is how it is for ASA sp1. I've been around here for a very very long time. In the past, we were to only e-mail suggestions for future improvements. My point is, folks are not going to e-mail issues and post them here (or any other offical forum). I prefer to have all issues posted here and do away with the e-mail requirement for STRs.

Regarding beta issues perhaps, but surely not for regular support. In their own words "Our support forum is usually the quickest way to get answers!". I only hope that will be this Avsim forum and not the other one.:(

Mike...

I also hope they will use this forum again from now on, because the 'new' forumsoftware is a little er... well, not that good... :(

Have to agree, their new forum does not compare to what's here at AVSIM, not many do. As far as their e-mail policy goes, if they want people to e-mail the problems their having directly to them that's fine, but users should still be able to voice their findings and opinions in an open forum, that's being transparent. If a user wants to rattle some ideas or concerns around, there's no better place than in a public forum. Users would like to know what problems others are having, and be given a choice/chance to discuss them openly, and how many times have I/you gone to a forum and found the exact answer to a question you had, or at least someone to steer you in the right direction. A lot of what users learn comes from open discussion and debate in forums like this. Everyone benefits from open discussion. The world would be a better place if we had more of it, and the flight simulation community would be lost without it.Glen

Nobody is saying you cant post your issues in a forum, HIFI just want you to email them with these problems too so that they can keep a track of the issues and an idea of the number of people with said issue.

Cheers, Andy.

Hi All,Before some of you get totally out of hand here, I have further information about this very topic that I will post in a sticky. Yes, that sticky will be locked too.No one knew last week how long, and in what condition theses AVSIM forums would return. So the programmer sat down a drew up an alternative site, with forums, so that we could continue to post important news and users could get support. The only e-mails we are asking for are for issues surrounding the public betas that have been recently released. That way Damian has been able to do some one-on-one troubleshooting. If you want to know more, please visit the sticky thread in a few minutes. Thanks All
