June 3, 200917 yr is there a source of real life intercontinental flight plans (i mean the ones flown from europe to america by big airlines) in .PLN format??any help will be appreciated Specs: Windows 7 64bit / Intel Core i5-3550 @3.30 GHz / 8.00 Gb RAM / ATI Radeon HD 7800 2Gb
June 3, 200917 yr I'm not sure what you refer to when you state you are looking for "real-world flight plans." All of the major airline FPs I have include all the global flights those airlines make. Almost all of the FPs today are taken from the actual airline web sites. I don't know how much more realistic these plans can get. Remember, there are certain restrictions placed on developers who produce these plans and those are the result of FSX/FS9 issues plus some involved in compiling the plans using Traffic Tools. I believe the FPs are as real as you can get.fb
June 3, 200917 yr Moderator is there a source of real life intercontinental flight plans (i mean the ones flown from europe to america by big airlines) in .PLN format??any help will be appreciatedYes, but not in .pln format. You can go to flightware.com, pick the US airport your interested in for your arrival from Europe, then scroll thru the arrival page and see if you see a flight comming from the city in Europe your interested. Open it and you will see the flight plan. Example below is from FLightaware for KJFK airport.Delta Flight 95 from Barcelona Spain(LEBL) to John F Kennedy(KJFK) scheduled for June 4th on a 767-400Flight Plan:GRAUS UM601 BLV UM190 VES UP177 GORDO UP177 BEGAS 4600N 01500W 4800N 02000W 5100N 03000W 5100N 04000W 5000N 05000W KOBEV YQX N124B TUSKY FRILL PLYMM PLYMM4 You can use this info to program your FMC in your flying a LDS767, PMDG 747, or anything else that has an FMC.Or, if you dont fly something with an FMC you can take this info to SimRoutes.com and go to the Generate Routes tab, plug in the info from FlightAware and have it build you a .pln file for FSX. You dont have to input this info manually, you can just copy and paste the flight plan in to Simroutes and have it generate it for you and it will save a .pln file to your computer that you can place in FSXLEBL - KJFK Flight Details Departing Arriving LEBL - Barcelona (12' MSL) (LECB) - Barcelona FIR KJFK - New York John F Kennedy Intl (13' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC LEBL 031800Z 23015KT 9999 FEW018 22/16 Q1012 NOSIG KJFK 031751Z 19006KT 10SM FEW050 SCT080 BKN140 OVC250 21/11 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP168 T02110106 10228 20178 58001 Route Details Alternate High Altitude KEWR - Newark Liberty Intl (18' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC GRAUS UM601 BLV UM190 VES UP177 GORDO UP177 BEGAS 4600N 01500W 4800N 02000W 5100N 03000W 5100N 04000W 5000N 05000W KOBEV YQX N124B TUSKY FRILL PLYMM PLYMM4 KEWR 031751Z 03009KT 10SM BKN040 BKN080 OVC130 22/11 A3000 RMK AO2 SLP159 T02220111 10233 20183 58008 Comments User Defined Route Aircraft Information LEBL - KJFK Flight Details Departing Arriving LEBL - Barcelona (12' MSL) (LECB) - Barcelona FIR KJFK - New York John F Kennedy Intl (13' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC LEBL 031800Z 23015KT 9999 FEW018 22/16 Q1012 NOSIG KJFK 031751Z 19006KT 10SM FEW050 SCT080 BKN140 OVC250 21/11 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP168 T02110106 10228 20178 58001 Route Details Alternate High Altitude KEWR - Newark Liberty Intl (18' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC GRAUS UM601 BLV UM190 VES UP177 GORDO UP177 BEGAS 4600N 01500W 4800N 02000W 5100N 03000W 5100N 04000W 5000N 05000W KOBEV YQX N124B TUSKY FRILL PLYMM PLYMM4 KEWR 031751Z 03009KT 10SM BKN040 BKN080 OVC130 22/11 A3000 RMK AO2 SLP159 T02220111 10233 20183 58008 Comments User Defined Route Aircraft Information Navigation Log Distance (NM) Time (472 TAS) IDENT NAME FREQ VIA CRS LEG REM GONE LEG REM ETE LEBL Barcelona - - 4179 0 0:00 8:51 0:00 GRAUS 299 87 4092 87 0:11 8:40 0:11 POSSY UM601 297 11 4081 98 0:01 8:38 0:12 MARIO UM601 297 20 4061 118 0:02 8:36 0:15 SURCO UM601 296 16 4045 134 0:02 8:34 0:17 RONKO UM601 296 23 4022 157 0:02 8:31 0:19 PPN Pamplona 112.30 UM601 296 33 3989 190 0:04 8:27 0:24 CEGAM UM601 303 28 3961 218 0:03 8:23 0:27 BLV Bilbao 115.90 UM601 302 36 3925 254 0:04 8:18 0:32 BANIL UM190 278 70 3855 324 0:08 8:10 0:41 TEDRI UM190 277 31 3824 355 0:03 8:06 0:45 VES Asturias 112.40 UM190 276 35 3789 390 0:04 8:01 0:49 UP177 - - 3789 390 0:00 8:01 0:49 GORDO - - 3789 390 0:00 8:01 0:49 GORDO UP177 305 - 3789 390 0:00 8:01 0:49 BEGAS UP177 304 107 3682 497 0:13 7:48 1:03 4600N 01500W 286 259 3423 756 0:32 7:15 1:36 4800N 73 624 2799 1380 1:19 5:55 2:55 02000W - - 2799 1380 0:00 5:55 2:55 5100N 03000W - - 2799 1380 0:00 5:55 2:55 5100N 04000W 274 377 2422 1757 0:47 5:07 3:43 5000N 76 1509 913 3266 3:11 1:56 6:55 05000W - - 913 3266 0:00 1:56 6:55 KOBEV - - 913 3266 0:00 1:56 6:55 YQX Gander Intl 112.70 250 129 784 3395 0:16 1:39 7:11 TUSKY 243 607 177 4002 1:17 0:22 8:28 FRILL 238 148 29 4150 0:18 0:03 8:47 PLYMM 248 29 0 4179 0:03 0:00 8:51 PLYMM4 - - 0 4179 0:00 0:00 8:51 KJFK New York John F Kennedy Intl - - 0 4179 0:00 0:00 8:51 Good luck. June 3, 200917 yr hey i use a good program called vroute. you choose your starting position and destination and it uses one of the most regular AIRAC cycles to plan your route. you can then save it as a fsx flightplan file and load it direct into fsx, is the fsx default flight planner file type .PLN?? if so then that is what it saves it as lol Regards, Philip Lodge PC specs; Windows 7 64 bit home premium, Asus P6X58D-E, Intel core i7 930 @ 4.0 GHz, Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3 1600MHz triple channel RAM, POV GTX 470, 500gb HDD + 250gb FS HDD, 24" 1920 x 1200, 19" 1280 x 1024 GoFlight MCPPro, VRInsight CDU II, Saitek Pro Flight Radio Panel. The plans you were referring to were for input into a flight - not AI FPs. Sorry about that.Another method you can use is to take an AI FP, look for the ICAO codes of a flight you want to make, copy the times, and use something like Flight Sim Commander which you can use to input directly into an FMC or into flight sim's flight planning system.fbLEBL - KJFK Flight Details Departing Arriving LEBL - Barcelona (12' MSL) (LECB) - Barcelona FIR KJFK - New York John F Kennedy Intl (13' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC LEBL 031800Z 23015KT 9999 FEW018 22/16 Q1012 NOSIG KJFK 031751Z 19006KT 10SM FEW050 SCT080 BKN140 OVC250 21/11 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP168 T02110106 10228 20178 58001 Route Details Alternate High Altitude KEWR - Newark Liberty Intl (18' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC GRAUS UM601 BLV UM190 VES UP177 GORDO UP177 BEGAS 4600N 01500W 4800N 02000W 5100N 03000W 5100N 04000W 5000N 05000W KOBEV YQX N124B TUSKY FRILL PLYMM PLYMM4 KEWR 031751Z 03009KT 10SM BKN040 BKN080 OVC130 22/11 A3000 RMK AO2 SLP159 T02220111 10233 20183 58008 Comments User Defined Route Aircraft Information LEBL - KJFK Flight Details Departing Arriving LEBL - Barcelona (12' MSL) (LECB) - Barcelona FIR KJFK - New York John F Kennedy Intl (13' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC LEBL 031800Z 23015KT 9999 FEW018 22/16 Q1012 NOSIG KJFK 031751Z 19006KT 10SM FEW050 SCT080 BKN140 OVC250 21/11 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP168 T02110106 10228 20178 58001 Route Details Alternate High Altitude KEWR - Newark Liberty Intl (18' MSL) (KZNY) - New York ARTCC GRAUS UM601 BLV UM190 VES UP177 GORDO UP177 BEGAS 4600N 01500W 4800N 02000W 5100N 03000W 5100N 04000W 5000N 05000W KOBEV YQX N124B TUSKY FRILL PLYMM PLYMM4 KEWR 031751Z 03009KT 10SM BKN040 BKN080 OVC130 22/11 A3000 RMK AO2 SLP159 T02220111 10233 20183 58008 Comments User Defined Route Aircraft Information Navigation Log Distance (NM) Time (472 TAS) IDENT NAME FREQ VIA CRS LEG REM GONE LEG REM ETE LEBL Barcelona - - 4179 0 0:00 8:51 0:00 GRAUS 299 87 4092 87 0:11 8:40 0:11 POSSY UM601 297 11 4081 98 0:01 8:38 0:12 MARIO UM601 297 20 4061 118 0:02 8:36 0:15 SURCO UM601 296 16 4045 134 0:02 8:34 0:17 RONKO UM601 296 23 4022 157 0:02 8:31 0:19 PPN Pamplona 112.30 UM601 296 33 3989 190 0:04 8:27 0:24 CEGAM UM601 303 28 3961 218 0:03 8:23 0:27 BLV Bilbao 115.90 UM601 302 36 3925 254 0:04 8:18 0:32 BANIL UM190 278 70 3855 324 0:08 8:10 0:41 TEDRI UM190 277 31 3824 355 0:03 8:06 0:45 VES Asturias 112.40 UM190 276 35 3789 390 0:04 8:01 0:49 UP177 - - 3789 390 0:00 8:01 0:49 GORDO - - 3789 390 0:00 8:01 0:49 GORDO UP177 305 - 3789 390 0:00 8:01 0:49 BEGAS UP177 304 107 3682 497 0:13 7:48 1:03 4600N 01500W 286 259 3423 756 0:32 7:15 1:36 4800N 73 624 2799 1380 1:19 5:55 2:55 02000W - - 2799 1380 0:00 5:55 2:55 5100N 03000W - - 2799 1380 0:00 5:55 2:55 5100N 04000W 274 377 2422 1757 0:47 5:07 3:43 5000N 76 1509 913 3266 3:11 1:56 6:55 05000W - - 913 3266 0:00 1:56 6:55 KOBEV - - 913 3266 0:00 1:56 6:55 YQX Gander Intl 112.70 250 129 784 3395 0:16 1:39 7:11 TUSKY 243 607 177 4002 1:17 0:22 8:28 FRILL 238 148 29 4150 0:18 0:03 8:47 PLYMM 248 29 0 4179 0:03 0:00 8:51 PLYMM4 - - 0 4179 0:00 0:00 8:51 KJFK New York John F Kennedy Intl - - 0 4179 0:00 0:00 8:51 Good luck. June 3, 200917 yr The trouble with emulating real life transatlantic crossings is the track allocation aspect. Stations at Gander and Shanwick allocate these tracks to aircraft based on weather reports from survey flights into the Atlantic by meteorological aircraft and from satellite observations of the regions of pressure, to take advantage of prevailing winds, so the tracks change on a daily basis.Typically, Europe to America flights use North Atlantic tracks in the daytime, and America to Europe flights use South Atlantic tracks at night, this is to assist in providing separation and to take advantage of the typical winds over the Atlantic, which tend to rotate anti clockwise. But they do vary, which is why European Aircraft can sometimes fly a long way up the UK before setting off toward the US, and other times head out from the tip of Cornwall or out from the Bay of Biscay; it is worth them doing so because of the tailwinds they can make use of. This means that what was a realistic plan yesterday, might not be at all realistic today, but could again be so next week, so you might find yourself having to use static real world weather from a specific day if you use a specific bunch of plans.With no emulation of Oceanic Control to allocate such tracks, it is unfortunately one part of FS which is definitely not as real as it gets.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
