June 20, 200916 yr Hello.I'm wondering if anyone might be able to answer a question for me regarding the DJC Airbus A319 AI aircraft. It seems that the version I have loaded wants to land WAY short of the runway. (I think I also have a Southwest plane that does this as well but I'm not sure which one right now.)The first line in the aircraft.cfg file says "DJC Airbus A319 FDE December 2007". Does anyone know if this was a known problem with this version and is there a newer version that might fix this problem? I took a look around but didn't find one.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does this happen at all airports or just at one or a few? It could be an airport altitude configuration error in your AI flightplans.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

June 22, 200916 yr It could be the fact that the AI engine needs to stabilize. This will take about 15 minutes. During this 15 minutes you will see crazy descents and landings in front of the runway... Will not only happen to the DJC aircraft.
June 22, 200916 yr That's the line in the airport text file, right? If so I'll have to check that out.Yes, make sure it matches the AFCAD entries both in terms of co-ordinates and elevation. I'm not sure if the co-ordinates would make a lot of difference as long as they are nearly right but best to get it all perfect and that will either eliminate this as the problem or if you are lucky, eliminate the problem altogether!Good luck.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

KSAN,N32* 43.97',W117* 11.34',13Here is the Frontier setup... KSAN,N32* 43.99',W117* 11.35',13Different, but not enough I'm guessing.

KSAN,N32* 43.99',W117* 11.35',13Different, but not enough I'm guessing. As you say, not a huge difference! But the default airport in FS2004 for KSAN is:KSAN,N32* 44.01',W117* 11.38',14As you say, the difference is trivial and I don't think 1 foot of elevation is going to make much difference to touch-down. If you don't have any add-on scenery for KSAN I would be inclined to correct it anyway. Can you confirm if you are ONLY seeing this at KSAN? If so, do you have add-on AFCADs or Scenery for KSAN? It would be worth disabling the add-ons and watching performance in a default airport situation. On the other hand, if you are finding the specific aircraft performs badly at all airports, maybe your aircraft.cfg has got some accidentally corrupt entries and we can compare our files. As a final resort, it is not difficult to convert an aircraft's FDEs to that of another aircraft that you know behaves well and I (or others on here) can guide you through that too.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
June 23, 200916 yr Author It's quite possibly I have seen this at other airports as well but I can't say for sure as this latest sighting is the only one that sticks. I do have Fly Tampa's scenery for KSAN but besides the one or two Southwest 737's I have seen, at the same airport, all of the others are fine. Because of that I doubt it's an issue with the airport itself. But, I don't know.

Just as an experiment - enable it again afterwards. It is best to eliminate that as a possibility before we move onto other things. I don't have that scenery so I don't know if the airport differs at all in terms of location, elevation etc.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

But, again, it can't be the scenery because the other AI aircraft are fine. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the FDE but can't prove it if there isn't a newer one then what I'm already using I guess.

If they still misbehave with the add-on scenery disabled, we'll change the FDEs.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

June 23, 200916 yr Have you tried Jan Martin's FDE with this?http://de.geocities.com/janswebsites/downl...t-v5acofadv.zipscott s..
June 24, 200916 yr Author Have you tried Jan Martin's FDE with this?http://de.geocities.com/janswebsites/downl...t-v5acofadv.zipscott s..I don't see that any of those are specific to the DJC model. Am I missing something?
