Saitek Pro Flight Panels

Featured Replies

I have the multi, switch and 3 glass panels with saitek. I just purchased the md-11 but haven't installed it, I will post if they work or not within the next day or so.

@RHodgeYou did some nice shopping there!

No because the Saitek panel doesn't show up as a USB HID device.
Aw, this happens when the community is kept outside during product development...not the first time :( On the other hand, I'd bet the farm on it that Pete could come up with some sort of software-interface. I mean, this thing obviously sends and receives data...someone spy that out. Now who's gonna call for Pete...? :(

If you have FSUIPC you can get maxx's third party drivers for the panels (uninstal the crap saitek ones).http://fstools.weebly.com/Basically you can assign each event from the panel a joystick button event (or a key combination)(even 2 different ones based on button press length for the multipanel), then you assign the button to something in FSUIPC.Only problem is to get the readout to work on the multipanel requires some sort of SDK being available. So far only working with the Maddog MD-80 (just for the LED readouts). You can find the link on the Saitek Forums, but oh is it such a pain to get access.imo it's the only thing making the Saitek panels buyable, I hope they pay the guy.Because of those drivers I recommend them all, with a little bit of setup, it's amazing how checklists can be a bit more intuitive than the keyboard/mouseclick thing (especially at it's price point), just wish the Saitek Yoke elevator wouldn't have been so sticky to complete the set (though I did find a used/retrofitted PFC yoke is heaven because of it =p).John GordonPS the radio panel works regardless since all addons aparently have to use the same radio stuff to interact with FS (same with maddog, PMDG, Wilco ERJ, F1 ATR, etc. ime).

Is it possible to send data both to the ms standard ap and, for example, the pmdg ap at the same time?If we could "double" the output of the saitek panel (e.g. make it send the inputs to both the standard and the add-on autopilot at the same time), we could place a hidden standard ap on the addon-plane's panel. this hidden ap would be inactive but still send it's data back to the saitek panel providing it with correct LED readouts. As I understand it the only problem so far is that the Saitek thingie requires input from a standard ms ap in order to be able to display correct values.Would this work?

If I understand how addon aircraft work, and I don't. I think they use their own autopilot code that doesn't really have anything to do with FSX's autopilot which is why an SDK is needed. You'll have to ask the authors for more clarification.I have noticed that some addon aircraft, i.e. the F1 ATR will display odd things such as when you switch it to altitude mode it will show your current altitude. Or if you switch V/S mode it switches to you current V/S speed (i.e. even if it's not what you set).

Saw this topic back up again and saw I forgot to mention my experiences. In the end I decided to buy VRInsight's M-panel and I'm very happy with it. It's working very well with the JS41 and gives a whole new experiences not using the mouse anymore. In combination with FS2Crew you can almost do everything by speech, yoke, pedals and M-panel.
