July 20, 200916 yr Ive always been led to believe that you needed the 600/700 series to run the 800/900 series.Yet i read this following quote from another forum;"...This statement is misleading. You do not have to already have the 600/700 in order to install the 800/900 - they are stand-alone products."Is this right? Can i download and purchase the 800/900 series without purchasing the 600/700 series? Thanks for replies.Andy. B
July 20, 200916 yr Can i download and purchase the 800/900 series without purchasing the 600/700 series? No, you can't, don't read silly posts, read what PMDG products page says. Michael J.
July 20, 200916 yr Andy you can't buy the download for the 800/900 seperately but you can order the 800/900 CD version from Aerosoft (What I did).If it's the downloaded version you have to purchase both versions, it's just the CD versions that are seperate.John Ellison
July 20, 200916 yr Author Ahh thanks.I gather thats what the person meant in relation to the misleading statement.Whats the reasoning behind allowing seperate versions via boxed version, but not download i wonder?Andy B
July 20, 200916 yr I can't answer the marketing question but advise the stand-alone 800/900 CD since the panel elements are more up to date with additional instrument features (such as TCAS). Even the Aerosoft CD 600/700 does not have the added features without the 800/900.
July 20, 200916 yr Commercial Member For the record, if you buy the download versions of both, the 600 and 700 get updated to the same level as the 800/900 are. The systems/FMS are automatically upgraded and there's a file you can download from our site that updates the VCs in the 600/700 to same level as the 800/900.
