July 21, 200916 yr With a bit of faffing about, yes you can do that with REX. In fact to do so would probably be one of the times the flight planner might be useful.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

July 21, 200916 yr REX doing the weather textures and the weather generation, with UTX (Europe) doing the ground textures, these pics are more or less over Stoke on Trent (UK) having departed Manchester en route for Birmingham. This is a flight I am currently on right now, and looking out of the window at the real weather (I am about two miles from EGCD , which is where I started out from), it is the kind of day where you can't really see the sun directly, but you can tell its position from the light on the clouds, occasional showers are showing up every now and again from the cumulous clouds. It was raining at Manchester for the departure but would of course be quite pleasant once you got up to about 10,000 feet. I would say the REX weather engine got things pretty spot on here, even in terms of turbulence...The advantage of UTX is not so much that it makes a noticeably radical change to things (although it does make a more convincing show of UK terrain in general), but rather the fact that it is very controllable in the way you actually can make those changes. At a basic level it improves the looks of things, but the change is subtle and does not really lend itself to 'wow' type comments. On the other hand, night time textures and lighting are a considerable improvement, especially if you have bloom on over a well-lit city centre, where it really can elicit 'wow' comments.AlRe FS altitude video: Go to their home page, scroll down, there is a big picture with a link (warning: 180Mb)Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 22, 200916 yr ...with UTX (Europe) doing the ground textures...UTX isn't a texture package of course, but landclass, roads, night lighting and so on.Personally it kills too much of the autogen for me, and makes towns and cities look too sparse.I think we're all waiting for GEX Europe for the definitive EU texture pack. :)Best David
