July 21, 200916 yr If I install the 64 bit do you think that I will be having problems with drivers, addons etc etc?more then 5 years ago when I got my first Amd64 I tried Windows Xp64, but I was able only to find few drivers, I guessed was to early for the 64bit era, 6 month ago when I changed my cpu, an AMD quadcore, I tried again a 64bit OS (vista) but I wasn't able to find drivers for the audio card, the printer, for the scanner, well after 2 days I formatted again my pc and installed again the best OS I used (in my opinion), Windows Server 2003 32bit, and with PAE I'm able to use my 4Gb of Ram!You can abilitate PAE ( Physical Address Extension ) in Windows Xp 32 bit and in Vista 32 bit, and your 32bit OS will be able to read 4Gb of RAM :( (windows server 2003 64Gb :( )link to microsoft page discussing about PAE -> http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platf...PAE/PAEdrv.mspxcheers Andrea

July 22, 200916 yr Agreed on XP 64bit. Runs like a champ and OOM errors are a thing of the past. Kelly Wilbar Asus P5Q3 P45 | E8500 @ 3.8GHz | DDR3 1333MHz 2x2GB | Ati HD4850 1GB | Windows XP Pro x64
July 22, 200916 yr Windows 7 is gettjng some positive press. Supposedly coming out in October? You might check on that.
July 22, 200916 yr Another vote for 64bit. I use Vista 64bit and do not regret the switch at all. The only problems I have is with the RXP Garmins and a CTD on exit of the sim with the Wilco Airbus (I get a gauge.dll error upon exit, during the flight it is fine). Everything else in the sim is great... Al Stiff
July 22, 200916 yr I'm waiting for Windows 7 to come out before I build myself a new PC to replace my 3 year old one. Thought about going to 64-bit XP, but instead will wait for 64-bit Windows 7. Almost no thought of going to Vista.
August 30, 200916 yr :( I have some 64bit weirdness...but I'm not sorry because I've already ordered my Win7 copy and some of this Vista nonsense should be cleared away...at least when I installed the Win7RC1 it was.I have both FS9 and FSX running on a dedicated partition. Some of the fun addon programs require a little "creativity" and currently the only thing I notice is that, for example, in FS2004 when I hit the F9 key to bring up FS Navigator there is a black screen delay. I'm sure this all .dll related but if anyone have solutions (such as running FS2004 as 32 bit)...I'd appreciate it.I waited nearly two years for a system that could haul the sim....and it does. But it's been a learning curve. :( StarstreamKJAX
