-------------------------------------------------------------------------OK Nick...as per the above...a done deal. Will order them this week. The 6-7-6-18 kit. BTW, I noticed that they are XMP 2.0 enabled. :
go back up and read my last postDont order anythingIf this is a Dell and they built that system like they have systems of the past not only will you have no access to any memory timing settings you wont have any access to any clock settingsIf thats the case Mitch, although what you have now will still be much better than what you were using, you wont be running any performance memory and you wont be clocking either.. so this entire topic is useless to youI was under the impression this was a build not a OEM computerNo one who wants the best out of FSX would buy a Dell tower.. they would build it from the right components that allow upgrades and access to critical performance BIOS settings.. Dell typically will not allow thatI know nothing about this tower and have no way to advise on what it will allow and wont allow but I have yet to see any Dell system that allowed a user to clock a non extreme procesor or set memory timing manually

Whoa!Back up!This is a Dell?OK, this is the first time I am reading this.. Please confirm this is a DELL computer we are talking about hereIf so, Mitch.. I really have bad news for you.. more than likely you cant use the advanced memory and you will never get that system to run like we do here on i7
------------------------------------------Nick...on the 730x line...the BIOS is WIDE OPEN. Everything can be adjusted..as has NOT BEEN in the past. It is now a truly enthusiast set up. It in fact is MEANT for overclocking the **** out of it! Others on the 730X DELL forum are already running Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 and above, as well as other premium brands. The motherboard is a BLOODRAGE unit that can go beyond 6 gigs of mem if you want. Oh yes ...I can tweak the you-know-what out of it...and the memory will be ordered. That is why the 730 X (very important that...X) is so popular right now. It took them three weeks to build from the time I ordered it. Check out the spec's anywhere and especially on Youtube. Fabulous results reported there...No worries! The days of Dell closing down the BIOS is over....in their high end's....On my 2003 Generation 3 P4...when you went into the BIOS...you were met by a flashing screen..that said; 'Why are you here? There is nothing to see...ok folks...go home...'. Yeah...only kidding..but the BIOS options were pathetic.... Not anymore....Dell needed to survive... Oh...everything on the new 730X is standard and not proprietary. When you want to swap out the motherboard, or in fact any component...you can now fire up Newegg.... This will save them....never mind that great quality I saw today coming out of the box...again...in awe! Wow....Mitch

I hope you are right MitchYou need access toC1E SuppportHardware PrefetcherAdjacent Cache Line PrefetchIntel

Nick here is a question; what method is used to convert DFT in N^2 complexity to a lower complexity, also while using Intel optimization... answer that and you might convince me your know something about Electrical Engineering.. say anything on the topic... you might convince me.

I have a better one, one which can't be Googled. What is "synth" and why is it a serial process?AVN8tr: how much you want to bet he won't respond, or will come up with some lame excuse?

----------------------------------------------------------------He won't respond, because you are posting as a bait. An in-your-face baiting...and nobody with an ounce of class within them would even deeyn to take that bait. I do resent this type of post on a thread that is meant to offer good interaction between all parties...and as always, everybody is free to 'Caveat Emptor', including yourselves. Please...bring to the plate your own views on premium RAM, and if it might advance the cause, or that you feel it would not....and you are most welcome to...but no more TROLL 'n BAIT. No place here for it.Thanks, The O.P.

Was it that easy to find? Well he didn't answer your's either... I wonder if anyone can combine the two questions into one answer? Bonus marks if you can relate it to the topic at hand.

Well said. You have the info from Nick you need now and a good head start. I'm sure he'd be pleased to answer further questions, perhaps in another thread. This thread has been corrupted by these two imbeciles.-jk

Well as long as somebody knows the Emperor has no clothes I'm happy.Too bad most of you are more interested in idolatry than information gathering, but to each their own.Odd though that so many would choose to just take someone's word for it when empirical evidence says the opposite is true. If Nick were right surely he could back up his words...

MaxI am not going to play

What I meant by 'burning in' is that I have purchased a Dell XPS730X (air cooled)...which arrived two hours ago...and right now, I'm going through the manual (something I have never done before...but...) and I wanted to run the system for a week with the Dell installed parts. Just a fast observation. I am in awe! The Dell 730x case and chassis is absolutely amazing! What a great and quality build. A massive build! There is such room and spaciousness in this chassis, that I can probably park my car in there at night,
I had no clue that you were talking about a Dell. Not to burst you
