August 13, 200916 yr I have been using this undocumented feature of FSX and wanted to share it with you. Read the following, and FOLLOW the instructions to the letter. OPEN the standard.xml file using NOTEPAD. Edit, and then save the file. Now when you use the combination key press...you get the name of every airport within 20 nautical miles FLOATING in the sky above it. This is a great feature...not documented. You won't believe all the airfields and their PROPER NAMES that were around you...and you didn't even see them!Enjoy...and oh again, Merry Christmas! :)Mitch-----------------------------------------------------------------------Displaying airport names The airport's name can be displayed above airports. (Undocumented feature of FSX). Label visible - Range maximum 20nm Approximately 1500' above airport reference point. Through terrain. User aircraft must be higher than the airport reference point, (otherwise disappears). Edit the file Standard.xml located in - XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\Controls Vista - Add the following code to the first SimControls.Map group, (at the very top of the file). <Entry><Key>CTRL+SHIFT+P</Key><Down>TOGGLE_AIRPORT_NAME_DISPLAY</Down></Entry>CTRL+SHIFT+P will now toggle the display of 'Airport Labels'.

August 13, 200916 yr Christmas in August? I don't think so. How about May of 2008? Maybe? And Thanks to Lamont Clark for discovering this feature.http://www.fsinsider.com/freeflight/Pages/...tedFeature.aspx

August 13, 200916 yr Commercial Member Are there any other usefull undocumented controls? What's useful to one person is a waste of space to another. If you have FSUIPC4 installed there's a complete list in a PDF in your FSX Modules folder. But that's only by FSX's internal names for them. The list is generated automatically by FSUIPC.RegardsPete Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. August 15, 200916 yr Author Hi,Thanks for sharing this information. It is a really nice feature in that you can identify where you are close to, via the known airport name tag 'in the sky', or maybe you just decide to land at that airport you didn't see or know about..and have a cold virtual coke and fries....:)Mitch
