I was wondering whether Flytampe could work with FSX. It's a great scenery, and since it lies in the centre of a lot o routes I like to fly, I usually like to stop there and break my flights in two that way. To my knowledge, it will not. I managed to port KSEA (Seattle) to FSX. But I was unable to do that with Vienna. There is a mesh problem. If I try to get the mesh flattened at the airport, the parked aircrafts and airport vehicles are like 60 feet up in the air. If I raise the ground level to reach these aircrafts, the runway falls into the depth. If I raise the runways, the aircrafts and vehicles now move up yet again.:)

Would you mind explaining how you flattened the mesh at KSEA. I would love to put that airport in FSX.

Its been a while..If I remember right..all I had to do was raise KSEA by about 9 feet or something. I just raised the airport using one of the Airport editing tool. I am pretty sure I raised it and not lowered it. Try adjusting the ht of the airport. Thats all. The Runway texture should appear properly fo0r the most except very close to your at the end of the runway, you would see the underlying testures. BTW.. I have MEgascnery Seatle phto scenery. So you adjustment may vary from mine.You may also want to remove any *tree*.bgl to remove the trees if the transparant halo around the Fly Tampa trees annoy you. You can then use the Instant scenery to plant new FSX trees.Manny

Could you give me the name of the Airport editing tool you used. Also would this work with KBOS or one of the other Fly Tampa airports? Thanks very much.

Hi Mike. Its either Flgiht1 AFX or Airport Design Editor. I have both so not sure which one I used. I beleive eitehr of them should work.MannyYes.. I did Bost and KSFO too. But Boston has such a hit on FPS. KSFO, the texture problem still exits to a distracting level. So far KSEA is reasonable. If you go to the Flight scenery forum, there is apost there about how to get the Flight scenery KPDX to work in FSX too.

Thanks Manny, although I have never used those programs I might try one to see if I could get KSEA to work. It was one of my favorite airports in FS9 and it is sorely missed in FSX. I sure wish FlyTampa would release more FSX sceneries. They seem to be very silent over there. Any one who dares to ask in that forum is treated pretty rudely by the residents there.

Manny could you be a little more specific about how to edit KSEA in an editor. It may be simple to someone who has edited scenry before but I have not so I am not sure I want to get in over my head. Thanks.

First try the freeware Airport Design editor. download it and install it on your PC0) Install flytampa's KSEA like you would in FS9 if you have not done already and add that scenery folder in FSX scenery.1) File->Open stock airport. (enter KSEA)2) Tools->Change airport altitude (I have it as 436 feet and I am using Megascnery earth washington)3) File->Save airport. (save it somewhere as an ade file. )4) File-Compile. (give a name and save the result .bgl file in a folder in either flytampa seattle scenery or a folder that is higher than KSEA5) rename the AF2*.bgl file in the flytampa KSEA scenery folder to .bak MAnnyPS: I think I mispoke. I also created another bgl file using SbuilderX. I believe I raised the whole airport elevation to 132 meters. Send me a PM with your e-mail id, I'll send you both the bgl files

Manny I don't know if you can help me but when I compile the airport I get the flowing error "INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2607: Compilation errors detected, compilation failed!" :( and no file is saved.

Why not just get the FSX version of Vienna? You can get an "upgrade-only" version for about half-price if you already own the FS9 version.
