WILCO A380 Box version CTD with SIA

Featured Replies

I bought this one product a year ago and put a similar message on the forum then.Every time I start with or change my aircraft to Singapore textures I get a CTD.With the other textures on the box everything seems fine.Yesterday I tried again after a long period as I was fed up with the CTD's.As soon or shortly after I changed from another plane to the SIA A380 I got a CTD, also my desktop had changed into a lower resolution (all the quick links etc on the desktop were larger). When I ticked out the FS2004 restart box in the fault message on the screen I desktop returned to the normal (higher) resolution.I think that there is a texture file in this aircraft which has a compatibility conflict.A year ago I sent a message several times through their service page but did not receive an answer.I found their tel. number in Belgium but got an answering machine which told me my call will be returned. I also sent a fax.A year later I am still waiting for a reply. Can anyone help me to get Singapore Airlines flying without a CTD. I cannot find any patches on Wilco's website for this problem. I have a few other products from them working all right.I have Windows XP .

Don't know if this will help much but have you tried to examine the textures in the aircraft folder? Whenever I install a new freeware scenery, I have a look at the textures with XnView or something similar. I've found that sometimes a texture should be something other then what it's named or it just doesn't display properly because it is corrupted. I know your A380 is payware but some times CDs get messed up when they're burned. You could also take a look at the aircraft.cfg file and see if there are any odd looking entries for that particular livery. At least it will give you something to try until someone else chimes in :)Mark

Hi Gus,I downloaded the file, thanks very much. it is the first time I have heard about rapid share.I have a couple of questions before I install this texture. All the other textures are 40.2 MB and have 20 files.Your SIA is 20,2 MB an has 12 files.Do I just have to replace these 12 files or the whole SIA texture file??Obviously I will make a back up of my original SIA textures before I start. The 12 & 20 number includes the file in which the textures are placed, therefore the actual texture files are 19 or 39.As to the gentleman in the next message I am not being bold, it is just the way I usually correspond. Hello,Difference of size and number of files come from:A Removed the VC files (don't use them)B Converted the textures to DXT3Anyways you can try those textures (just put the texture.SIA in place of yours) and seen if you stay with the problem.Note:Rapidshare is greatYou can use it as online storage also and for free by creating a collector account. For create the account:Just upload a small file (any)When upload is finished .. check under in the new window .. "create a collector account" and follow the procedure. If files are not stored in a collector account they will dissapear after 1 month or so (if never downloaded) .. and can be downloaded only 10 times. So it's great to have a collector account if you need a easy online store for free.Regards.bye.gifGus.

Did everything you suggested used your set of textures reduced to DTX3 and still getting CTD'sAll the other textures are fine, I flew a while with Lufthansa etc, was at Frankfurt then changed to SIA to take-off, CTD.Tried starting with the default aircraft or another texture first , I sometimes managed to have the SIA texture for a couple of minutes but also then if I ticked a shift + number for example to get another panel (i.e. GPS ) again CTD.If it was a video card issue then I presume all the other textures would have the same conflict.I am now wondering if it is due to something in the aircraft cfg file specific to SIA which is causing a conflict.I am going to see if I can find some thing there. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for your help so far, much appreciated.

Not been able to be on the PC for a couple of days hence the delay in writing.I changed all the textures in the SIA file with those of Lufthansa, again a quick CTD.The error is a ntdll, which is mentioned in the above message. My question is why do it only effect the SIA no matter which texture I use, and not the other textures. Is the something I am overlooking, maybe changing the name of the texture file?? as I have tried different airports & countries with no difference.Would the way SIA in noted in the aircraft cfg be an issue?? As far a I can see it looks all right.Christian

Hello,

If it was a video card issue then I presume all the other textures would have the same conflict.
Are you using a ATI graphic card ?If the answer is yes ... I read about ntdll.dll and CTD with other specific Wilco plane (A318) and not with the the other Airbus of Wilco. The solution for one of the users was to upgrade the ATI drivers and he had no more CTD caused by ntdll.dllMyself don't like upgrade graphic drivers when all run good (don't broke what is not broken) but maybe you can give a try .. (if your ATI drivers are not yet upgraded)In case of troubles you can allways return backward.Personnally I use Nvidia. This is my SIA cfg//Airbus A380 FINAL version[fltsim.0]title=Airbus A380 2D panel only Singapore Airlinessim=A380model=2dpanel=sound=texture=SIAkb_checklists=kb_reference=atc_id=9V-SGPatc_airline=Singaporeatc_flight_number=1123atc_heavy=1atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=Singaporeui_manufacturer=A380-Wui_type=Wilco Fleet : Airbus A380-800 2D Panelui_variation=Airbus A380 Singapore Airlinesdescription=Wilco Fleet : A380\nThe Largest\nand Most Advanced\nCommercial Airliner Ever !\n\nWilco Publishing\nwww.wilcopub.comNote:Mayb the UI manufacturer name is not the same as your as I change them for my personnal use but it's not a important item for the problem.Regards.bye.gifGus.

I have a nVidea Ge Force 440 128 MB, I am going to get a new PC after Window7 comes out as I also have FSX & add-ons which are too powerful for my present PC.I ticked the reflections box in settings=display= aircraft as advised by Swoop.I do not now get a CTD as I begin with the SIA with the original texture files, had a couple of CTD's later, out of memory or when I used the map or touched the top of my joystick. However I am flying a little longer than before.I am still experimenting and will change the textures to your files you sent me ( have changed to DTX3).Once again to thanks you guy's for your great help and advice up to now, greatly appreciated. The texture file was sia & in the aircraft cfg SIA, could this be a problem?I still would like to know why only SIA is affected.Christiaan

Hello,

The texture file was sia & in the aircraft cfg SIA, could this be a problem?
If the texture name is different in the aircraft.cfg .. you will not seen the aircraft picture in the choice aircraft page.If you have the folder texture.SIA .. you must have in the aircraft.cfg the texture=SIASame apply for the model and sim (air file ) stance .. must be exactly same name Regards.bye.gifGus.

The textures has always shown up despite small letters in the texture file name and capital letters in the aircraft cfg.The file you sent also has small letters sia and in your aircraft cfg capital letters SIA.So somehow it works.Christiaan
