My intention is not to make a snide remark, but with regard to PMDG creating a wx radar... it's about time.

You are right.. it is!This is something that is being worked on behind the scenes. We have no details and no time table as of yet (other than it is some time off), but when we have something to show and tell, you'll see it here or on our web site first!

Now this is even more good news! PMDG is tearing it up! I'm also curious if it will be able to retrofit into all the planes.

... It's also going to be quite a bit different from what the other radar addons out there do.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but it's a good one!To comment on the quoted above, I certainly hope so haha, I have the WX500 and the weather seems very random at best. I have rain forcasts in clear skys and clear radar in thunderstorms. I have a couple threads started at Reality XP's site but so far am pretty turned off at what so far seems to be just random data.Anywho, I hope this is still in the works, but no rush. I have enough on my plate to still learn ;)

From my understanding of how the FSX engine works, and what developers have said, it's not possible to have wx radar accurately present data.

I think FSX weather radars generally depict clouds, not precipitation. None of those I've tried (Reality XP, Captain Sim, the ones in the Feelthere and Maddog airplanes) do a very good job of it. Probably something to do with the innards of the FSX weather engine.

I wonder if this will be a feature of the new 737.
