J41 locks up every time I end a flight

Featured Replies

Hello All,I have a strange issue going on here. I can load the J41 fine, everything seems good while actually at the airport/flight/etc., the issue that pops up is when I end a flight. I can end the flight fine, however, once I end the flight and am taken back to the FSX screen (where you choose your aircraft/weather/airport/etc..) I get asked to end the flight one more time. When I click "end flight" the second time, the sim just locks up and I have Alt-Tab out and "End-Task". This happens every single time I use the J41, and only the J41. I have a whole slew of add-ons installed (GEX, REX, UTX, ASA, UT2, etc..), but this seems to be the only aircraft I experience this issue with. The PMDG MD-11 and 747 are fine and have no problems. My Specs are in my signature below. My test flight consists of KSEA, ASA Weather, and a start time of around 12pm - 12:45pm.*EDIT* Another discovery: Clicking "continue flying" after I just ended my flight = the flight loads up again in the background while I am in the FSX menu, only there is no actual flight going on, just the sounds of the other flight. It seems like the J41 is loading itself 2x when I start a flight. Any ideas here? Thanks for your time,Shane

Does Flight Reset help? Does Vista provide an application has stopped dialog box if you wait a few moments? If it does, expand it and paste the information it provides.

Hello, Dan. Thank you for the response. No, I do not get an error window (that I have seen). I did a few tests by loading the same essential flight situation (weather, airport, etc..) with various aircraft both freeware as well as payware, and I am unable to recreate the issue.I am cosidering uninstalling and then re-installed the J41. Is there a process that I should follow for this as to not bork the activation process? Thanks for the help so far!Shane

Looks like Limpo was correct. Here is my crash report. I just deleted the FSX.cfg and got this error message after loading the J41 in the aircraft selection menu, then navigating to the options screen, then going back to the Free FLight screen:Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: fsx.exe Application Version: 10.0.61637.0 Application Timestamp: 46fadb14 Fault Module Name: PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.DLL Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4aa0604c Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00050dc7 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033Additional information about the problem: LCID: 1033It seems like the "PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.DLL" module is the one causing issues for some people. What does that module do exactly?Shane

Looks like I fixed my initial issue. I unstalled the J41, restarted my computer, and then reinstalled the aircraft. On this second reinstall, I was not asked to enter in my license code. It appears that I no longer have the J41 DLL issue, however, now I get this crash upon exit from FSX:Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: fsx.exe Application Version: 10.0.61637.0 Application Timestamp: 46fadb14 Fault Module Name: MSVCR80.dll Fault Module Version: 8.0.50727.4016 Fault Module Timestamp: 49cc5361 Exception Offset: 00008aa0 Exception Code: c000000d Exception Data: 00000000 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 6a7c Additional Information 2: 1e49582d8cb0d74e87694251ccb57e6b Additional Information 3: ee93 Additional Information 4: 53aa26353e2e2d076c07873b95adf6b4I am not sure what this is as I have not seen it before.Anybody have the BEX crash before and can explain it?Thanks,Shane

The _3.dll file is a panel component. The developers acknowledge the problem and are working to isolate it.By any chance, are the MSVCR80.dll faults related to using End Flight from the menu?
