Looking for help with Wilco/Feel There E-Jets.

Featured Replies

I've had this for some time now and actually have several hours flying time. However, my Autopilot (AP) has gone haywire. Once I click the Flight Director (FD) just prior to taking to the active, it goes into a toggle between TRACK TO and ROLL FPA. It then continues to cycle until I'm airborne. Once in flight, it will react to clicking on either HDG or LNAV, yet will not engage. I cannot get out of FPA, in other words I cannot engage any vertical mode, not FLCH, not VNAV, nor VS.I follow a check list and have a loaded flight plan that is active in the FMS. (E-Jets doco from www.flytutorial.com)I've not made any configuration changes since my last successful flight. Nor have I installed any new software, either FS or non FS related. I've not added hardware either. Other aircraft behave normally.I'm running Vista 64 bit, FSX with patch (SP2). Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is a great little jet and I've had lots of fun flying since purchasing some time ago and would dearly love to return to happy flying. Thanks,Jay
The Wilco site states under Technical Requirements "Windows XP/Vista 32 bit"http://www.wilcopub.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=prod_ejetsCould using Vista 64 bit be your problem?

It could be, however, I do believe in the doco it states that 64 bit is supported. Furthermore, since I was able to install (disc) and run the software for several months without issue, I do believe that it is compatible.Good point nonetheless. Thanks,Jay

Using Vista x64 is not the problem. I use x64 and mine works perfectly. Are you sure you are programming the FMS correctly. The autopilot will not work properly if the FMS is not setup the right way.

The Ejet has one of the more complicated, nay, confusing flight management system. There are lots of gotchas. Vista 64 is not the problem. Have you tried the feelThere forum? I don't know what else to say, except I feel(There) your pain. But once you get the knack after several complete flights, it is very much worthwhile.

I've been flying the 170/190 for months now without so much as a single issue. This just started yesterday and has me very frustrated.I even tried a very simplified short hop with only one waypoint, I cannot get a vertical mode do engage. For that matter I cant get the HDG to hold. Thanks for all of the replies.Jay
