JS41 config error on Take off

Featured Replies

I was wondering if someone can tell me what I maybe over looking during my preflight that gives me the red warning light during take off. I set my speed bugs according card, I have filled out my pax sheet and have gone through the fms to ensure that that nav data is filled out and flt plan is all set. I did the tutorial and didnt get the warning. So im not sure what im doing different that gives me the warning. Also last night during a vatsim flt I had twr come on and ctr during my final and it was way to hard to tune the radio to twr so I had to go around till I could get the twr freq on the standby. Is there a way in which to tune the radio without having to zoom in to change the freq? Thanks for your help everyone what a fun plane to fly huh.

Wouldn't it be condition levers to flight for takeoff? :(

It is possible, if your controller is out of calibration, for you to push the physical levers to the stops and have the engines respond with less than 100% RPM.You should arm the spoilers after engine start as part of the After Start Check, and set FLAPS 9 as you taxi away from parking as part of the Taxi Check. On the roll, once you have the plane on the centerline of the taxiway, press the TOCWS button on the lower right side of the FO panel. If that doesn't give you an alert, then you should be good to go for takeoff. (The TOCWS check is part of the Departure Check "to the line".)When you line up on the runway, and you push the condition levers to FLIGHT, then set takeoff power with the power levers, if you still get an alert...look at your RPM. If it's less than 100%, you'll get the CONFIG alert. You can try pulling the condition levers back slightly then pushing them up to FLIGHT again, but if that doesn't clear the problem, then you need to recalibrate the controller. With my CH Throttle Quadrant, I calibrate the levers so that there's a space between the calibrated max and the physical max...when I push the levers to the physical stops, I know I've got max travel in the sim.

Im using the same throttle quadrant so i will check my calibrations. I did do it when i first installed the js41 but have not check it since. I will also see if im getting the 100%. I do know that most of the time on the climb out im only at about 99%. Thanks I will give that a try and post back here. Also I dont normally push the TOCWS so maybe that is the problem. Man its hard to find a good FO these days. lol

Ok your were correct on the on the condition levers not getting to 100% cant get them to go all with with the quadrant so I just move them the last 1% with the mouse. I am still getting the config alarm though so I think im must be messing something up either in the config of the fms or on my load sheet. Will a mess up in there give me the config warning on take off? I will admit im am short cutting some of the items from the tutorial like the test panel on the FO side but I wouldn't think that would have to do with the config.

Did you make sure to disconnect all the ramp manager equiptment? ie, gpu, pylons, baggage cart ect. other than that, I I'm stuck! are you checking all the overhead switches as per the check list?

Regarding the Vatsim flight and not having time to tune the radio.... in either Squawkbox or FSInn you can tune the radio via the Chat Box. Simply type in .com1 xxx.yy and press enter; you can do the same to enter a squawk code if you need to, just type .xpdr xxxx .

Thanks I have forgot all about that option, its been so long since i had to do it like that. Thanks."Did you make sure to disconnect all the ramp manager equiptment? ie, gpu, pylons, baggage cart ect. other than that, I I'm stuck! are you checking all the overhead switches as per the check list?"As far as the ramp manger I have disconnected all ramp manger stuff. My last test flt I didnt even use it just did a battery start up.

Try unplugging your throttle hardware, and see if you are still getting the warning. Easy way to see if it is your throttle hardware is overriding your mouse inputs for that last 1 or 2% or condition lever travel...

I know that sounds like the easy way but I have other buttons assigned to throttle quadrant and unplugging it would require me to go have to do the thing over again when I plug it back in. During a test run up on the runway with brakes set I did confirm that my rpm is staying at 100%. Although I thank you for the suggestion, that is just more work then im willing to do at this time anyway.
