September 21, 200916 yr Hello,Could anyone explain why there is no indication displayed on the panel of the start locks being removed. As mentioned in the tutorial, one may find it too late.ThanksEric
September 21, 200916 yr Eric,There isn't a visual indication of them being removed, but there is an audio call-out that gets played.
September 21, 200916 yr And, there isn't a visual or audible indication of them being removed in the real thing.During testing, I had such a hard time with the start latches that they put the audio cue in to get me to shut up about it. :( Best Regards, Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch Pinner, Middx, UK Beta tester for PMDG J41, NGX, and GFO, Flight1 Super King Air B200, Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, Flight1 Cessna 182, Flight1 Cessna 177B, Aeroworx B200
September 21, 200916 yr The trick I learned was to open another view window, set it to spot plane with a good view of the props before and during start. I carried this trick forward by also opening another view but this one of the VC overhead so I can watch the engines, press the buttons and manipulate the controls without a lot of hassel. If this is the real thing, what more to say ...?Eric
September 23, 200916 yr James, a quick glance out of the window with engines running will not confirm whether or not the start locks are REMOVED...You are confusing with the start locks being in place prior to engine start...And there is feedback... you push the power levers forward with the start locks still in place, and you won't get more than 30% or so torque...Happened to me last night leaving TJSJ for TNCM... I forget this again and again... should use the checklists more often... :(Andrew Andrew Entwistle
September 23, 200916 yr Andrew, indeed I did not RTFQ properly! I suppose that on application of takeoff power a quick glance out the window will tell you if you're actually accelerating as you should be :(
