December 23, 200916 yr Hi Jeff,You always start from the Plan a Flight Screen?Jim,I always start from the screen with the 4 options for aircraft, airport, weather, time/season...I think that is the Plan a Flight screen right?Russell, I have disablepreload=1, which I believe doesn't automatically load the saved flight at startup correct? December 23, 200916 yr Author Saved flights maybe a red herring, but my firm recollection is that I have only ever had this problem WITH a saved flight.I can also confirm that if I load an historic weather fils via ASA prior to resuming a saved flight, then I don't seem to get the problem at all, whereas if I allow ASA to refresh itself naturally, I DO get the problem on most occasions. That may be a red herring too, but it is my individual experience at the moment, just trying to assist.
December 23, 200916 yr Jeff,You may be correct -- I don't really know enough about disablepreload because I don't use it, but I was under the impression that it just stops FSX from loading the terrain, textures, etc for the set location when you're on the Free Flight screen setting it up. Once you press fly, it loads the environment. Please correct me if I am wrong. Russell Johnston
December 24, 200916 yr Hello all, Ive experienced this TAT issue only recently as in two weeks now, After i started loading flight plans into ASA before starting Fsx. Today i made a 9hr flight from EGLL-TJSJ on the Md11 without any TaT issue and i have a sneaking suspicion that its cause i Didnt load up a Flightplan. Can anyone try this out and report? Gidel Warde
December 25, 200916 yr CappinSuruje,I use FSX flight plans all the time, so that is not the cause. Can you check your advanced weather and confirm you have no layers in there for temp, pressure, etc? Russell Johnston

Can you check your advanced weather and confirm you have no layers in there for temp, pressure, etc?Hi Russert...Thats my point...try a long range flight WITHOUT loading up a flightplan into ASA n let us know. Im thinking thats what allowed me to make that 9 hr flight without any issues (not saying its a fix but a good point to start troubleshooting). I came across your fix from the other thread in this forum...i think i did it incorrectly tho..but ill try it again and let you know. Gidel Warde
December 28, 200916 yr Hi. Last night I have completed nice flight from Palma to Lisbon. Wilco Abus vol 1. DWC disabled and no high TAT issue... Temp remained as it should be. Flight plan was loaded to ASA. Also I have marked add additional weather stations option (don't know if it matters). Tom Link

I thought you meant you didn't file a flight plan in FSX, not with ASA. I do not plug the flight plan into ASA either. Russell Johnston
December 29, 200916 yr Small update from me... Just flew from EGLL to Palma... shortly after take off at FL10 temp went to high +50 :( a minute after it went back to what it should have been and stayed as it should be... Minus is that in Airbus, you do not see the TAT unless you open the display which is somehow half way hidden. I realized after the plane stopped climbing, atarted to go down and I overspeed... ATC as well started to scream... Quick decision, switched to manual climb vs managed and we went up again. At the same time temp went back to normal again.Next time I will enchance the route coverage and we will see how it will go.PSI know this is topic for MD-11, so I hope I am not bothering anyone with reporting my issues wit TAT here. December 29, 200916 yr So I have sacrigficed last nite and went to do some searches. To me it seems that some kind of rouge weather station is responsible for all this. Day before I had my dynamic weather changes set to the lowest. Once I went into this high TAT it took quite some time to get out of it. Then slider was 50/50 and when it happened it took also some time but shorter than befoer. Now, last night I flew with setting out to the max, and when it happened it took some seconds and i was out of it. I assume that during that time I went into the rouge station zone and went out of it. when you fly on short distances chances of getting such is much less than taking long haul of few hours, as simply on short you have fewer stations to pass by.The only way to be 100% positive on this is to go 1by1 thru stations before we fly. I will try to save the Wx file once downloaded and then after the problems happens, I can revert to it and search where exactly it was located.Perhaps someone could do the same? It could streghten the effort in finding solution. Tom Link

A good starting place might be an option to prevent ISA deviations greater than +15C above FL200. Ryan Kelly
January 7, 201016 yr This is not meant to be a post like "one is better of another" but I've been using REX2.0 for a while and I have not experienced any TAT variation so far... (They are still fighting against wind shift issues though!!)I hope HIFI will sort out this problem soon as I am looking forward to start using ASA again...I will try ASA without loading a flight plan on it, I really hope it will work...Nick

January 30, 201016 yr Howdie, and again. This time the TAT Problem happens with the PMDG 747-400 on a short flight EDDL-EDDF on FL110 (11000 Feet!!!). I saved the weather Data and Flight Plan. I hope i can repeat the problem with these files...Andy Andreas Decker
