MD-11 : Smoke coming form tail engine after touchdown

Featured Replies

Hi all,It looks like oil is dripping in the engine and therefore smoking is coming out the tail engine.I waited at the parking spot with engines on idel but it keeps coming.Any mechanic around to fix this ? :( MD-11_smoke.jpgThis when I like the mD-11 most !MD-11%20dusk%20at%20Amsterdam-res.jpg

You landed on it!! :DUmm actually - isn't this a bizarre FSX bug?Is it actually on fire?

I waited at the parking spot with engines on idel but it keeps coming.
Shut it down and pull the fire handle!Best regards,Robin.

Same thing here. Happens on new Win7 installation after touchdown. No further unusual engine parameters or any malfunctioninformations. At same time rudder does not center anymore.Did not happen in my old XP installation.

beautiful pics.but you re fired. you cant burn an engine on landing pretty sure your Chief Pilot will put on some "bad" frosty destinations and no more tncm or tncc for a while ... more seriously whatever made this effect this is nice ...

Hello GSalden,I had the same problem: a smoking engine number 2 after landing. That always happend when deactivating auto brake by hitting the pedals / the "." key when rolling out on the runway. But when I turned the auto brake off the smoke disappeared.I got a hint that it could possibly be because of any installed add on. I use FS2crew for the PMDG MD 11. I guess you use it, too.So I entered the "start center"-menue before starting FSX and klicked on the two buttons "restore..." (panel config and keyboard assignments). I got an error message, but simply ignored it. Then I started FSX, closed it again and entered the FS2crew-menue again. Thereafter I klicked on the two buttons again (panel config and keyboard assignments), so that the red colour of the words disappeared and it turned to blue again. After saving and starting FSX the problem with the smoking engine number 2 was gone.I guess it simply is a kind of gauges-problem that is fixed by overwriting the previous files...Please let me know, if this suggestion works for you!Kind regards and happy landings, kriggelb
