FSUIPC Macros for J41

Featured Replies

ok, this was a hard work but you can now use a lot of functions with my FSUIPC Macro.all Autopilot functions (e.g. ALT knob, IAS knob, HDG knob plus, minus, press, NAV, APPR, etc) the row of the EFIS Buttons (FULL/MAP, TCAS, GSPD/TTG, ET, V/L, LNAV)the FMS buttons (of course not the characters and numbers)left and right feather switchSpoiler armall switches have different sounds.Even the rotaring knobs have sounds now (e.g. ALT plus, minus). I'd like it so.Unfortunately I haven't found out till now how to command the two EFIS BRG knobs.Same with ADF/VOR analog gauge switches and many other useful functions...maybe time will bring...You need registered FSUIPC from the famous Pete Dowson.Below is the Macro file Copy the text into a new Editor file and save it as J41.MCRO into your X:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules folder. With the FSUIPC menu you can choose the functions under J41:....

If you have read this thread about the new FSUIPC [AUTO] function than maybe you are interested in my [AUTO] code

ipc.sleep(10000)ipc.writeLvar("L:CPYokeUpDown", 1)ipc.writeLvar("L:PICYokeUpDown", 1)

this does not more than automatically lower the Yokes (after 10 seconds)Have fun!btw: pray to what ever you want that PMDG isn't changing the code with the next update...but pray :(edit: oh my realname....guenter steiner

Nicely done, thanks.

Great Work! Thank you very much!Using your macros it seems like I'll be able to use my GF MCP auto pilot (displays dont match but at least I can control the functions)If you are able to add any more controls please post them. I have found that some of the lights will work with the FSUPIC defaults (taxi, strobes, beacon, landing) as well as some of the other basic functions like the park brake, exit, etc. but I'm sure you already have tried them.I feel like I am starting to get someplace now and have had my nose burried in Pete Dowson's advanced users manual for FSUPIC for a day or two now trying to figure things out as well as reading alot at My Cockpit.com I would really like to be able capture some of the engine managment controls on the overhead panel, as well as any of the other functions I can get away from having to use the mouse to control.BTW...looks like your link to [auto] function might be broken? I can't seem to pull it up but will search for it later. Thanks Again!Robert Thomason

yes, some functions are default. Thats why I have left them out of the macros, of course. The lights are default, even CRS, and some other little thigs...gear and flaps and the whole frequency/radio stuff works as well

Burry your nose for many weeks in this stuff... it endless...I can't say how much we have to thank Pete Dowson for his programm. Its unbelievable what's possible with it

Me too, but theres an other kind of code logic I think... I haven't figured out now how it works, but I still try again. The controls above were the most important for me...As I stated above: hopefully that the code doesn't change with the next update...
BTW...looks like your link to [auto] function might be broken? I can't seem to pull it up but will search for it later.
Yes you're right.... but I couldn't edit. Here it is again. It is for the panel state function for the MD-11http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=263966

Cheers, Andy.

thanks... unfortunately no... thats a big, big secret between PMDG and me :( NO, just kidding. You have to le run a logging window and then klick and see what happens...klick a knob or button several times and then go to the FSUIPC menu (to pause the log)change to the logging window and scroll up till you find the entry which could be the action you want. And then try it out....dumb, hard work... took me some nights :( if I can help with some VRInsight stuff, let me know :(

Well you have put in much hard work on this thank you very much indeed.Which logging types do I enable in FSUIPC?P.s. I've already dumped a list of L:Vars and many of those look like they could be used for overhead switches, that's if you can figure out what parameters to use with them :(

Cheers, Andy.

The logging type depend on what I get out....And now I can't remeber what I have used with the J41. If nothing happens when I klick somewhere, than I try an other...Ii was event or the next to it...?Yes, the L:Vars give something out, but I haven't found out the logic behind. But I've managed to use things like battery or avionics, but the switches won't move... and it's odd to have battery on but switch is out.I'll try these days again...

ok, this was a hard work but you can now use a lot of functions with my FSUIPC Macro.
First, thank You very much for your work. It's extra ordinary.Second, do you have more? :( :( I'm looking to make the light switches to work. And AP on/off. And rotary Up/Dn beside AP button. To control IAS speed when climbing or descending. Is there any way to control those by my hardware? (I'm using OpenCockpits hardware)
btw: pray to what ever you want that PMDG isn't changing the code with the next update...but pray :(
I'm praying every single day! Seriously! B) Best regards Piotr

Hi Piotr,

Your asked switches work with the standard assignments of FS.So, if you assign in FSUIPC Beacon toggle, this will work.Same with the rotary beside the AP (maybe we call it "vertical Speed": VS)it is assigned to Ap Vs Var inc/dec. You can choose this in FSUIPCNot all lights will work (like icing, panel) but the most important ones...As I will try to make a selfmade switchpanel next month or so I have more swithces over and then I will assign the rest of the J41 commands...
