October 21, 200916 yr Is it possible to "skew" (using the "Y" key) when using a yoke? I have a Saiteck Yoke and when I press the "Y" key the plane takes off like a rocket. It did not do this when I was using a flight stick ( Microsoft Precision 2 Joystick). jerrycwo4
October 22, 200916 yr Do you have the throttle quadrant too? If so, I believe it is the throttle axis that has to be centered to keep the plane from taking off in a strange direction. One of the other leverls needs to be centered to keep the plane from spinning on it's yaw axis. I still use a regular joystick for adjusting an AFCAD while in the slew mode. October 22, 200916 yr Hi,Yes, it is possible. You need to calibrate the yolk so that it is centered while the yolk is in the neutral position. The engine has nothing to do with this!
October 22, 200916 yr Just look at the assignments, and switch to SLEW: then just configure axes as you would like them on the yoke. Turn off it other axes do some unwanted actions...
October 22, 200916 yr When you first install a new controller, FS9 tries to guess at the proper axis and button assignments. Doesn't always do a good job. Note that the settings for "slew mode" are different from the settings for "normal flight" mode. Check both buttons and axis and make sure you only assign the ones you want. scott s..
October 22, 200916 yr Jerry,I also slew with the joystick, but that may not be the issue: many add-on planes do this rocket impression when you come out of slew, so try pressing F1 just before pressing Y to come out of slew, which stops it happening. Works for me.;)
October 22, 200916 yr Hello,Of course you can also check in the FS9.CFG [JOYSTICK_SLEW {B508FD40-D565-11DB-8001-444553540000}]AXIS_EVENT_00=AXIS_SLEW_SIDEWAYS_SETAXIS_SCALE_00=64AXIS_NULL_00=36AXIS_EVENT_01=AXIS_SLEW_AHEAD_SETAXIS_SCALE_01=64AXIS_NULL_01=36AXIS_EVENT_03=AXIS_SLEW_HEADING_SETAXIS_SCALE_03=0AXIS_NULL_03=0AXIS_EVENT_05=AXIS_SLEW_HEADING_SETAXIS_SCALE_05=1AXIS_NULL_05=127[JOYSTICK_MAIN {8F99C3A0-1AD8-11DD-8001-444553540000}]AXIS_EVENT_00=AXIS_AILERONS_SETAXIS_SCALE_00=64AXIS_NULL_00=36AXIS_EVENT_01=AXIS_ELEVATOR_SETAXIS_SCALE_01=36AXIS_NULL_01=36AXIS_EVENT_02=AXIS_THROTTLE_SETAXIS_SCALE_02=127AXIS_NULL_02=1BUTTON_DOWN_EVENT_00=BRAKESRegards.Gus.
October 22, 200916 yr Jerry, does your plane take off like a rocket 1) when you switch from normal mode to Slew mode (if I do this with the Saitek yoke my planes start spinning around like crazy)or2) when you switch from Slew to Normal? If it is 1) then the simplest solution is to disable the yoke before entering slew mode by simply pressing ctrl+K (I think this is the default key combination, maybe yours is different, just check you keyboard assignments). After you have pressed Y again to go back to Normal mode just press ctrl+K again to reactivate the yoke.Wolfgang
October 22, 200916 yr Author Thanks to all of you for your kind replies. I have the Go Flight Pro Floor setup that has the throttles. I'll try all of your suggestions to try to fix the problem. I need this when I start adding scenery objects to my Fs2004. jerrycwo4

Before selecting 'slew' enter Ctrl + K to disable he yoke, do your slewing, then Ctrl+K again to return to normal. No hassel setting up your controls.RegardsKeith B. Regards Keith B.
