Good motherboard recommendation

I currently have a Q6600 and am thinking of upgrading to a Core i7 CPU. Looking on the 'net I see references to the X58 chipset, although I'm not sure if this is the best or most effective. I have yet to purchase the CPU and memory. Any advice on a cost effective but good mobo would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bruce.

P55 is a capable chipset as well, but that limits you to i7 processors on the 1156 platform, of which there are few. The i7 860 and 870 are your only options there.

The X58 chipset is currently your only choice for the 900-series i7 CPUs.I use the eVGA 3X SLI X58 motherboard...I think the most popular is the ASUS P6T Deluxe V2. Both support overclocking very well. Both are quality boards with components capable of supporting aggressive overclocks. There are others I don't know a lot about, i.e. Foxconn. I do not like Intel's own boards.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

I second the Asus P6T Deluxe v2. I love mine and it overclocked so well with my 920 d0 proc. I've never regreted the MB.
