World of AI

I do not have World of AI and was just wondering why so many people rave about it. I have a number of payware AI programs. What's the differance in them and World of AI and why would I want World of AI ? Thanks jerrycwo4

Well, it's good and it's free. But if you have something that you're happy with, stick with it :(

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Switch to Vatsim or Ivao, flying with real people and real ATC is tons better than any AI :(

Exactly! Same for me. So another reason to use WOAI, Jerry. If you fly offline you should use WOAI, but if you fly online you should use it even more. :(

I bought Traffic2005 as my first traffic program. Then discovered WOAI.

O.K. let's get specific here, I'm surprised no one has really answered this question yet. :( :( WOAI is a great companion to payware options like Flight1's Ultimate Traffic and you'll find it very easy to use/manipulate. In short the main reason WOAI is a great application is because in a world of ever changing Airline environments WOAI offers an option that's fluid with the trends. WOAI is well supported so you'll have traffic corresponding to what's going on in the real world (more so than any other option out there). WOAI is easy on framerates and the AI models look better than most payware options out there. The big thing to remember is WOAI is a companion software to payware traffic that allows you to get a good 85% of all world traffic represented in FS. WOAI doesn't have all the airlines represented that's why you use it with programs like Ultimate Traffic. For airlines that WOAI does represent you disable the same airlines within the payware product so you don't have traffic overlapping in turn causing CTD's of FS. 'GA Traffic' is another great option for adding GA traffic in your AI world and works outstandingly well with WOAI and all payware traffic add-ons available for FS.So people rave about this add-on (WOAI) because it's highly customizable and gives you the most up to date traffic population around. No other option out there is this current or can stay as current as WOAI because there's people constantly updating/keeping up with current real world trends. The only reason we don't have a Delt/NWA merged file is because things haven't fully shaken out with the new schedules. Once they do there will be no other option out there to get the latest Delta traffic represented in FS other than WOAI (that alone holds a tremendous value). I say this because the odds of a payware product coming out with an update for Delta is more of a long shot than the freeware guys... :(Remember if nothing else without WOAI over time your traffic in FS will become dated and static pretty quick. This is a huge problem if you care at all about having FS reflective of the real world...

WOAI also has GA and Military traffic as well. I installed their package for the HTAI British Aerospace Hawker XP800 over the weekend. The package has 116 aircraft variations and covers 507 airports with over 1527 legs. Not bad for a free package.Mark

The GA in WOAI is very limited compared to GA Traffic. With GA Traffic you can download all the freeware GA models out there, install them into your aircraft folder, and go into GATraffic's menu and add them specifically as GA traffic. You can even add your payware GA as GA traffic using GATraffic although your FS performance will be seriously affected. GA Traffic works best with models built for the sole purpose of being GA AI.

To make this even more simple imagine Delta changing it's livery again, without WOAI you'd be stuck forever with the liveries supplied by the payware add-ons at the time of it's release. An example of this Flight1's Ultimate Traffic for FS9 doesn't even have NWA's newest paint let alone the A330 aircraft (I see it in the database but have yet to see if actually flying in FS9 with Ultimate Traffic alone). You can forget about airlines like AirTran and Southwest who fly the 737-700 with winglets. Varg is still a major airline in Brazil, Delta is still flying with the livery preceding the newest one, and US Airways never merged with America West leaving the old liveries and airlines still flying around. WOAI in my setup has updated all of that. US Airways has the white top/blue underbelly representative of the Merge with America West and Spirit Airlines is flying with their newest (outlandish) livery. I hope this gives you a good perspective of the benefit of WOAI. Northwest retired the 727/DC10 along time ago but in many payware packages for FS9 these birds are still flying for the Airline. You can forget about Compass Airlines and the E-175, you won't see it... World of AI periodically corrects all this with constant updates as they happen in the real world. Singapore Airlines flies the A380 in FS9 thanks to WOAI; Once the 787 hits the skies with various airlines we'll see it in FS9 as well thanks to WOAI and freeware contributers...

Dillo110... thanks so much for that GREAT answer. I know how long it took to type all of it. You really answerd my question. Thanks so much for your help (and the other comments from the other people). Want to heard something almost unbelieveable? I'm been flying Flight Sims for about 12 years now and I have NO clue what "flying off line is"???????jerrycwo4

I have NO clue what "flying off line is"
Quite simple, Jerry. Like anything else being off line or on line (meaning the internet/network connection).Flying offline means flying on your own, possibly accompanied by artificial traffic (AI).Flying online means flying live in real time together with other human pilots.** To do that you can use either the multiplayer option or, more profesionally, fly on VATSIM, IVAO or other flightsim network.
