blury when flying

Featured Replies

as you can see in this pic its all blury and nothing is textured. why is this and how may i fix ithope to hear backalex billington

It can be a ton of problems. First of all, you're flying in windowed mode, that can cause problems. 2nd, how's your computer? Is it up to date in terms of drivers, hardware, etc? Does it handle FSX well? When did this problem start? Did you make any changes or install something prior to the problem?

I don't see anything blurry in the pic. I see that the vis might be turned slightly down giving you a slight haze effect as it should, where you have the text "Its all blurry", I see no blurries. I do see jaggered edges on the fuse looking like you might want to experiment with AA settings or nHancer if you have a nVidia card. I mostly fly in windowed mode and looks like you might want to check your settings. Make sure you're running it at your desktop resolution. Ideally at your monitors native res.

Does it get better and "catch up" if you pause the sim and wait?banner_fs2crew_team_kk.png

Hi Alex, To add to what I've already mentioned and now seeing your specs. *Don't take offence please* The CPU and memory could be much better for FSX. Especially the amount of ram you have. It's pretty low. I'd have at least 6gb, especially with todays prices. The cpu being a 939 socket has a lot of very cheap upgrades also, but what is the numbers on you MB? The 4000+ is normally running @ 2.4GHz, which isn't exactly slow, but this seems more like a FS9 spec to me. As Kyle asked about staying in one spot, I'm sure over time your seeing improvement if you were to pause, wait a minute or so, etc... Your memory is constantly being reloaded with only 2gb and after you consider the Operating system taking its memory, it's no wonder you see less than pleasing results. Personally I still can't see "Blur" as I mentioned already, I do see flat clouds if thats what you mean.

Alex,2GB is not enough for FSX & Win7, especially while running a complex addon aircraft. Your CPU is also very old and is like contributing to it. Try to upgrade to at least a Core 2 Duo and 4GB - this will require a new motherboard.

I used to run an Athlon4000+ for FS9 a couple of years ago. I built a new computer based on the E8500 C2D, with 4Gb RAM. Currently running under Windows XP...FSX runs okay on that, FS9 runs exceptionally well.Your CPU is a major bottleneck. It looks like the sim is not loading up the higher LOD levels fast enough, leaving you with only lower resolution textures...For any major improvement long term, Ryan's advice is the only way forward unfortunately. I didn't even attempt to install FSX on the 4000+ box...Andrew
