I got a second monitor for myself, hoping to increases the realism of flying.I was hoping that the second monitor would accomodate things like the GPS(RealityXP GNS 530),the FMC(from payware aircraft), or any of the new view windows from fs9(like externals). But alas all the above cannot be dragged to the second monitor. THe only thing I can drag are independent programs like FS Commander or VRoute, so I can watch my plane on a moving map. And even then, fs9 has to run in windowed mode which I'm not crazy about.I remember I read once in a back issue of PCPilot, about a guy whose second monitor was a touchscreen on which he placed an FMC so that he could program it. Cool!Is there any way windows from inside fs9 can be dragged out of it?Eytan OrnsteinIntel Core2 Duo 4400 2.0 GHZ2 GB RAMNvidia GeForce 8600GTWindows XP with SP2Main monitor MAGXP2011 20" 4:3 format2nd monitor Samsung Syncmaster931BF 19"

I'm sure this has been discussed many times already, so if you need more details, search a bit.In short:Switch to window mode, undock the windows you want on the other monitor, drag them there and switch back to full screen.

NOTE: To "undock" a subpanel, right-click on it and Select "Undock..."

Switch to window mode, undock the windows you want on the other monitor, drag them there and switch back to full screen. Thanks! I never knew about this method.But...one thing that did not work- I switched to windowed mode, right clicked on the GPS and dragged it to the second monitor.Looked great. But then when I returned to full screen, the dragged GPS went black!Workaround?Eytan

If you turn off AA, and the GPS returns you know to try another set of video card drivers. KJ

Anyways, i experimented a bit. I found that by -putting fs in windowed mode, undocking one window, dragging it, and then back to full screen, the dragged window was still there. If I tried the same as above, but undocking two windows (GPS and spot view), then after full screen, the second monitor went dark.So I guess I can pick and undock one window? Is there a limit here?EytanI never have anti aliasing on -too much of a frame killerEytan

Well, here is what I do. On my main monitor I have FS9 running. My second monitor is off to the left. Now (for FS9) I start FS, then go to windows mode, then drag the whole thing over to the left monitor. Now FS is on the left monitor. Next I go to "views" then "instrument panel" and using the sub menu open all all windows that I want to stay on the second monitor. Next I go to the top of the FS main panel and drag it back over to the main panel. Next, I hit alt enter and there they are. All of the sub-windows are on the left, secondary monitor and FS is running under full screen mode on the right, main panel. Some considerations. Squawkbox (VATSIM) seems to run better on the main monitor, so I don't drag it over to the left monitor. Other programs, like Track IR5 and the Siatek (work around) software are best opened just after you start FS and go to windows mode (before you drag FS over to your second monitor).Good luck!Ed
