Hey guys,I have recently done a clean install of FS. Well, I was getting all my scenery put back in and then some afcads added. Well, I wanted to edit one so I downloaded the latest version of Afcad but now, upon opening, when I go to "Open" to open a file, the "Collecting Airports" box pops up and proceeds to load two bars and then the program freezes. Is something in my scenery.cfg out of whack and it causing it to fail? Any suggestions?Thanks,Danny

You say you did a "clean install" of FS(2004). Does that mean that you uninstalled a previous setup of FS2004 first?If so, you likely did not not remove the various files and folders which the uninstall routine leaves behind. I'm presuming you are referring to AFCAD v2.21, hardly "latest" as it is very old now - it dates from January 2004!It may be that, with a fresh install, AFCAD needs some time to build the airport list, so be patient and give it plenty of time.If that list has become corrupt, you can delete the file named "Filelist" in your AFCAD 2's main directory and it will rebuild it again from scratch.Best wishes,John

Mr Swordy has retired from active FS work so there will be no futher updates to the AFCAD program as we know it.There are several newer utilities which one can use to enhance and manipulate airport data - the best (in my opinion) being the free, ADE9X program which now works in both FS2004 and FSX.I did not want anyone to think there was a version of AFCAD newer than 2.21 available.

I've been making it a practice to recommend ADE9X to new folks in lieu of AFCAD, since it is a current, fully-supported project... :(
