January 18, 201016 yr Look what advert i got in my mailbox this morning : http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=d...ls&pid=2283For the time being i'm keeping reservations for this to finally be the utmost gadget i've been waiting for ever since flight simulation became possible on a PC. For this to really work to great satisfaction it would be THE single most important upgrade to our flightsimming experience, wouldn't it. It would turn our beloved virtual blue yonder literally upside down ! To me, it seems too good to be true.... ( i'm not that much of an optimist.... :( )Just imagine if it *would* work ..... The difference would be even more than upgrading from FS4 to FSX at one go ! The immersion effect would be scaled up 100%. No FSXI or even FSXII could ever match the difference we are bound to see if finally we can experience virtually flying in a 3D environment if this thing will really work....FSX is on the 'Excellent' rating list of 3D Vision support. FS9 seems not to be supported at all. We have a saying overhere which goes something like ' making someone happy with a dead sparrow', i'm keeping my fingers crossed this isn't going to be the label we can stick onto this 'next generation' 3D glasses iteration. Can't help thinking there must be a catch, a snake in the grass, a snag... :( Can't help being extremely exited about this too ! :( Cannot test it myself yet ( works only with Vista en Windows7, i still have XP ), would've bought it even if it would've cost a multitude of the price (139 Euro) because it wil bring our PC flightsimulation experience as close to the real thing as ever possible ! IF IT WILL WORK !!So what do you guys think about it ?? Anyone willing and able to give it a go ???...... B) Cheers,Jan Jan
January 18, 201016 yr Well done 3D would be a huge boost to improved reality in FSX. 3D is specially important in flightsim since cockpit panel with its instrument should never be on the same focal plane as terrain in infinity. As a real-life pilot the current 2D arrangement in FS was the first thing I always hated, in my opinion it actually has impact on how you fly. I am only curious whether the custom add-on aircraft will also work in 3D too, I don't fly default Microsoft aircraft. I am in no position to test it yet however, my hardware is in serious need for upgrade. Michael J.

B) Cheers,JanI used shutter glasses years ago but found they gave me a headache.I've been using a $30 pair of analygraph glasses , the present nvidia drivers, and tracker ir and get pretty good 3d results without the headache for almost 2 years now. The aircraft with 3d knobs looks spectacular. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
January 18, 201016 yr You also need an "NVIDIA 3D Vision-Ready" display. As I understand it, this means either a 120 Hz LCD monitor or a 3D-ready TV, which will limit your choice and probably push the price up considerably if you don't already own one.Dugald
January 18, 201016 yr So what do you guys think about it ?? Anyone willing and able to give it a go ???...... :( Cheers,JanI tried the nV 3D driver recently with anaglyph glasses, and while the 3d effect is pretty well done, with anaglyph the color loss is not worth the 3D for me. I also had 3D shutter glasses, and the same issue was present: you just plain get less light thru, and I REALLY like crystal clear, high contrast imagery. I think if the dimmed image (I did brighten up the image, with some improvement) less intense coloration is adequately addressed, it could be worth having. I still have the shutter glasses, but they are not useful with my current LCD.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
