not quite reachinh altitude

Featured Replies

Hi guys,Just bought the MD-11 and it is a superb aircraft to fly. Have done the tutorials but I'm having issues with regards to reaching my crz altitude. my plane levels off a couple of hundred feet beneath the altitude. I have the altimiter set to standard. Right now I should be cruizing at FL330 but it only gets to about 32750. Can anybody tell me where I'm going wrong?

Hi guys,... Can anybody tell me where I'm going wrong?
Not with out a screenshot so we can see what you are doing. Sorry.

Paul Smith.

Double check both the ALT setting on the panel and the setting in the MCDU. The panel adjustment can change the FMS value, but usually if you overshoot the setting.

I had this problem, when resetting the altimeter back to standard above 18000 do not use the "B" shortcut key, on the panel right click the altimeter knob on the fcp to pull it (it should have the letters "STD" on it). That will set it to standard and the airplane should climb to the exact cruising altitude.Andrew Zapata

Yeah if you set your cruise altitude and then set the altimeter back to standard the plane will climb to the cruise altitude of the old altimeter setting. Just pull the altitude selector knob, press prof and the plane should climb to the correct altitude if im not mistaken
