Double building with WMKK

Featured Replies

Hi There,I have double building using WMKK Kualalumpur airport from project KLIA scenery It seems that the original default building is doubling the new building. In the read me scenery there is no exclude part.In the AFCAD, there is 2 bgl for signs and 1 for the airport so no conflict there.Does any one have this issue and if they did, please let me know how can I resolve it.Thanking you in advanceHani

Hani,Can you direct me to the source of this scenery? I have a WMKK scenery on my own system which has the necessary exclude files but I don't know if it is the same scenery as you are using.John

Hani,In your Scenery\Asia\Scenery folder there is a file called KualaLum.bglJust deactivate it, for example by renaming the extension to anything else, like BAK.

Thanks. I don't think that is the scenery I am using - at least I didn't get mine from there - but at the moment the site bounces me to an inoperative forum so I cannot download it to compare. But I do discover this problem occasionally with sceneries. It only requires an exclude file to be made if you can't find the solution. You can do this within the AFD file if you have AFX or ADE9, or make a separate one using ExcBuilder. The latter two are free, but there is a bit of of learning involved. With AFX it is a less-than thirty second job.JohnPS - is it possible you have edited the original AFD file in AFCAD2? If that file had the exclude definitions in it, AFCAD would lose that detail when you saved it.

Hani - do you mean you are having trouble making the file, or that you have made one and it doesn't eliminate the building? Which software did you use?John

Hi John,I have used AFX, and I tried to create an exclude file over the area that I have trouble with, and that did not work.So I am still with the same problem.I followed the instruction of the AFX, but with no luck. Thanks for your help.Hani

That's very odd, nobody can say you haven't tried!Only suggestion I can offer is to make the exclude rectangle larger, well clear of the building concerned. Its a shame that site at aeromalaysia.com seems to be dead, the forum still says it is temporarily unavailable - my guess is it has been closed. Otherwise you would surely have got the answer there.Best wishes,John

Hi John,Thank you very much, my actual exclude rectangle was large enough to cover the entire area, but still no luck.I will try perhaps to relook for the scenery and retry installing again, who knows perhaps I will have more luck. Thanks so much for your help on this.Best regardsHani

I took a look around to see where I got the scenery I am using and I found it listed at AVSIM - kliav2.zip, although the file itself seems to be one of those they have lost. But this appears to be the same scenery you are using, which is good news.Looking in my WMKK scenery directory, I have two files listed:WMKKexclude2.BGLWMKKexclude.BGLThese are surely the critical files - do you have these present?John
