February 24, 201016 yr This has happenened too many times now for it to be a glitch.I`m at FL310 with real weather, always more or less an hour or hour and a bit into my flight, all Auto, and the mach value and "Thrust" (magenta) start flashing alternately amnd my speed goes silly, and although "Hold" (white) and my chosen FL (magenta) remain fixed, I start dropping and climbing so much that that REALLY annoying chap at Radar Contact starts bugging me about my "needing any assistance".Where should I look for the causes of this? Nicholas
February 24, 201016 yr Hi Nicholas, Please sign your full name per foum rules, thanks. This is because of the FSX weather engine. If you'r not using the registered FSUIPC.dll wind smoothing issue you will see exactly what your describing. This effects all detailed aircraft. What is probably happening here is either a huge wind shift or a major change in the barometric pressure (something like from 29.92 to 31.23 etc). Another possibility that is still the FSX weather engine (possibly also a ASA issue) is the TAT issue. This too can make you fall from the sky.Hope this helps, i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

February 25, 201016 yr Nicholas, he is trying to help - Read the rules round here and you will find that if you dont sign your 'Full' name you will end up with no post for people to respond to... If you want help follow the rulesJust a question, but given this is a public forum readible by anyone on the Internet.... What if I wish to not disclose my full name due to it being available in public domain? Spammers, Fraudsters, Google, the list really goes on a long way...
February 25, 201016 yr Then I'd suggest contacting pmdg directly instead ofposting on the forum for support Gavin Price
February 25, 201016 yr It is your name... not your name, address, date of birth, shoe size, social security number and so on.I am guessing here, but I would say it is so that PMDG and their staff may check to see if there is actually a customer with that name on their books having purchased the actual addon for which support through the forum is being sought... it helps to identify potential cases of software piracy, so see it in your own interests...If the company you work for has an internet presence and lists its staff, then your name is going to be in the public domain... and there probably with telephone numbers and e-mail addresses to add...Chris, is your surname Savage by any chance? :)I really do not see how having simply my name in this forum, and no other details, is going to do cause me any harm. Net fraudsters need a little more than this to have any chance of identity theft... I work in the IT industry and have to deal with the issues of security on a daily basis, as many others here do as well. I have experienced a lot in the last 10 years, but nothing related simply to a single name (and no other details attached). It is a required forum policy. As Gavin mentions, if you do not like it, then don't post here, it really is that simple...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
