February 28, 201016 yr Author Well thanks for such wonderful support, I actually solved the issue myself. My initial programming was using the keyboard by clicking the vertical slot opposite the numbers on the FMS.By using the FMS keys, It was okay.Have I found a bug? Dave Taylor
March 5, 201016 yr I haven't done the tutorial since beta testing, but I am sure this is not a bug. Problem here is it has been so long that I cannot advise. Perhaps the FMS section of the manual has the answer for you. Dan Downs KCRP
March 10, 201016 yr Author No Dan, there's nothing about what the FMC will accept. The function is there but clearly in my case, it doesen't work using the keyboard instead of the FMC buttons. Therefore, it is a bug IMHO Dave Taylor

Therefore, it is a bug IMHOSorry Dave, but I've actually been meaning to do the tutorial again to try and answer this question in the advanced tutorial thread but have yet to have the time. I don't recall having this issue though, but want to try it again to be sure. There are other possible culprits here, .net framework, C++ runtimes. I will do my best at trying to duplicate this later and will report back either way. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
March 11, 201016 yr Author Cost Index is shown on the picture as '50', Yet the tutorial asks for '80'. So, which is it?....and where is the 'nav log' the tutorial refers too? Dave Taylor
March 11, 201016 yr Author Trip/Time31.0/0138 and TOGW '484.0' where does that info come from and appear on the FMC following the tutorial please? Dave Taylor
March 12, 201016 yr Commercial Member Cost Index is shown on the picture as '50', Yet the tutorial asks for '80'. So, which is it?....and where is the 'nav log' the tutorial refers too?Use what is written in the text, in this case 80.The Nav Log is on page 3 and 4.Trip/Time31.0/0138 and TOGW '484.0' where does that info come from and appear on the FMC following the tutorial please? Those get calculated automatically once the FMC has all the necessary information.Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
March 12, 201016 yr Author Hello Markus and thank you for responding.I have followed your tutorial to the letter several times and at no time do I see the other information displayed at the time you show them in the tutorial? I don't even remember seeing it at all.I will start again (fourteenth time) and see what happens.I managed the 1st tutorial with no problems. To conclude, I am sadly dissapointed I never recieved any other help except from Dan so, I am wondering if anyone has completed it? Dave Taylor
March 12, 201016 yr Commercial Member Dave,do remember that the advanced tutorial is not quite the same step-by-step guide as the first tutorial, so the exact timing of things may vary depending on your input order and such. However if you don't get those values calculated at all then something is missing somewhere. Are you sure your block fuel entry is in place? To calculate GW the FMC needs ZFW and Block Fuel.So far I haven't received any complaints regarding this so I must assume that the error is on your end somewhere.Maybe if you posted some screenshots of various FMC pages at the time you think that the calculation should have been done will reveal something...Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
March 12, 201016 yr I flew the advanced tutorial last weekend and all went fine until I got close to the PA NJ border and then the plane would not follow the flight plan or more like the flight plan ended to soon. At this point I think that it was probably something I did. Well see next time I try it.Rod Storer
