February 28, 201016 yr Hi all,Can anyone recommend any scenery that covers Scandinavia in FSX? I'm not sure if there even is any. I am hoping to recreate SAS flights using my Maddog. Thanks!
February 28, 201016 yr I think if you use GEX Europe + UTX Europe + FSGenesis mesh you'll get the best scenery possible.I have North America covered with GEX + UTX + Genesis mesh and it's great! :( ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.

In southern Sweden and Denmark, the default FSX textures are more realisitic. But this is my opinion. Nothern parts is good, but the rural parts is too greenish. I'll post some comparison pictures in a couple of hours or so.
February 28, 201016 yr Buying all 3 add-ons seems rather expensive and would take up a lot of disk space. Is there no other option?I like to fly real-world routes with my airlines. For example, with my ATR72-500 I fly Air Tahiti with the Tahiti X scenery. Anyone have any ideas for scenery packs that would do the same thing for a major MD80 operator? I thought SAS but if there's no specific scenery I don't know.
February 28, 201016 yr HiIf you're doing airliner flying in Scandinavia I can really recommend FSAltitude. It covers all of western Europe and looks great, none of those repetitive ground textures when you're up high.Anyway, the website is www.fsaltitude.comPharis

February 28, 201016 yr Hi,I just installed GEX Europe 1.02, which looks a little better for the Scandinavian countries. Here is a picture from the southern part of Sweden (Smaland) over the countryside with mixed forrests and farmland.GEX Europe 1.02 (REX water textures) and UTX:Here is the same location with default FSX textures and UTX. Note that this is with default water textures. Just compare the land textures. Not that much difference IMO.
March 1, 201016 yr Thanks for the screenshots. There's not really enough difference between the two - not in those pictures anyway - to justify forking out money for it.
March 1, 201016 yr I'm sure there was a scenery add on for part of Scandinavia in the Avsim Library a couple of years ago but I can't remember what it was called.Ah! it was actually Norway and called Norway_Scenic_X. Not sure if it was in the library or another website.
March 1, 201016 yr I think I saw a bush out of place in the 1st shot. :(I know. I've filed an issue report and the bush will be moved aprox 23 feet in the north east direction in the next SP. :(I'm sure there was a scenery add on for part of Scandinavia in the Avsim Library a couple of years ago but I can't remember what it was called.Ah! it was actually Norway and called Norway_Scenic_X. March 2, 201016 yr There's something odd about the shade of of that pale green in GEX which I find unrealistic. I actually think the derfault greens look better. I preferred the artistic the approach n texturing used in GE pro. Alas this is for fS2004 only. Sorry GEX.

Sorry GEX.HelloI also prefer the shades used in the default textures compared to that green used in GEX, I really wish that they had done Europe using a similar colour pallet to the way GEX USA was done.Though I would think it looks better when you see it on your own monitor, screenshots are hard to judge.
