March 7, 201016 yr Can someone explain the advantages/differences of running FSX in full screen as opposed to window mode? I'm getting some flashes/artifacts in window mode that I don't get in full screen. Full screen seems somewhat smoother and more realistic too. I do have Force Vertical Synch On set in the Nvivia Control Panel already. Are there any other changes I should make in the Nvidia Control Panel or FSX graphics settings?

I am switching to windowed mode right now because I get artifacts with full screen... (using BP=0). This really shows FSX performs different on every computer... (BTW Do you get vsync in windowed mode?)Anyway, don't think you should set different settings for full screen vs windowed mode.

All things being equal you shouold see no real difference onther than that. One other thing, FSX has an issue where if you are in windowed mode and are using the full screen, you may get artifacts or other problems. Resize the window to a bit smaller than the full screen and you should be ok.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
March 7, 201016 yr Or drag the taskbar out of sight.I get about a 75% fps reduction if my window touches the taskbar. I started off by resizing the window to slightly smaller, but now I just use auto-hide taskbar, and the problem is gone - and I can keep a full-sized window.Still an issue if you need to pull something else up (eg a map/browser) but for the few seconds you have the taskbar in sight, it's no big deal.
